Over the half way mark!

It's a rest day with my bestest friend, Vicki, in Newcastle today - my home town. Boy, have I missed the town of my birth, and I never realised how much until we drove in. I was so emotional, the heartstrings were tugging and the tears were falling.
The kids stayed with us at Vicki's last night but this morning we put them on the train to Muswellbrook, about a 2 hour trip north-west, to stay with their friends for the night. Hubby and I leave here tomorrow morning (after our rest day) and pick them up on the way to Coffs Harbour for our next stop.
We are 4,000 klms down, another 3,000 to go - YAY, over half way through the trip!
Hopefully we'll be in the house on the 13th, and I'll be back online the following day. :-)
See you all very soon!!!
Hugs
Jenny

I'm just amazed whilst I'm reading about your blog, and it brings home to me what a vast country Australia is. You could drive from the far north of Scotland down to the southern most tip of England in about ten hours at the most.

Oh, you are going through Coffs Harbour! That was our very first vacation when living in Sydney - big sigh :-)
I am glad to hear that you are well on the way, it must be interesting to drive such a long way.
Safe journey for the rest of your drive!

Great to hear all is well and progressing. Yes, those little road houses can be quite a surprise sometimes. I've made the drive from Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast to Perth via Sydney and Canberra with two small girls and totally understand the complexities and enormity of your trip. Be safe!

I read your blog every day but not always leave a comment. Today I can't help saying that your drive could not only encompass spain but all Europe!

Jenny we stopped in at Newcastle about 18 months ago and were so lucky to find the replica of Captain Cook's "Endeavour" was arriving there ... it was a fabulous sight, much celebration and cheering - we really enjoyed it!!
Sounds like the trip is going well .... take care and drive carefully (I'm always saying that to my kids too lol) ;o).
Hugs,
Joy :o)

Yay for you Jenny! :-)

I know what you mean about those birth roots tugging at the heart strings! My sister (SIL) sent Rosie some new clothes, and they smell of her washing powder, which is one of my favourite ALL time smells... but geesh I miss home more than ever at the moment!!!

Have fun with Vicki! Hmmm.... what a lovely name!!!! *cheeky grin*! :-)
