A new do....and stuff.

It didn't take long to go from this...
 ...to this!
Just 40 minutes in the hairdresser's chair.
I think I found the best cure for menopausal hot flushes. A bare neck and a cool breeze.
~~~~~
Blossom had some fun last weekend. She had seen a photo of a mobile phone case on Annie Down's blog and after a few little changes to 'text speak' she made a cover for her phone with some yummy Minny Mu Mu fabric.
She would also like me to show you her new backpack...
His name is Emmet and she bought him from *that* shop! And yes, she is 15 (almost 16)...
Emmet spent this week at school with her, but the school holidays begin at 3pm today so he can enjoy a few weeks play at home with his new mistress.
~~~~~
I've been playing with these...
...and I'm going to play with this too. It's the cutest little box of pattern cards from Amy Butler, and included is a book, fabric & thread to make a tissue box cover. Blossom loved it so maybe she'll be the one to make it....
I bought it on Amazon for $8, my very first Amazon purchase.
~~~~~
These are the fabrics I'm using to make Slicer (17yods) a quilt...the design is something I've been playing with for a while now, and the stitcheries will intrigue all teenage boys. A few months and I should have something to show you.
~~~~~
I also thought I'd show you my Elefantz market bag. I designed and stitched this two years ago - before I began Elefantz. I'm thinking of writing up the pattern at last....what do you think? It just holds a purse, sunglasses and keys, with a long strap to sling over your shoulders while you stroll the markets, leaving both hands free.
~~~~~
Today is the last day to enter the March Charm Square Challenge. Have you put your photos into our Flickr Group yet? You can see the entries HERE. All entries go in the drawer for some beautiful shabby chic goodies from *that* shop!
I'd also like to show you these Ului Table Runners that Allie and Vickie made from my pattern as that sat with me in spirit over the Cyclone Ului weekend. (these are now entered in the Challenge too)
ALLIE made this one...
...and Vickie made this one.
I love them!!!
If you click on their names you can go and visit their blogs to see all the other lovely projects these talented women have been sewing.
Now it's time to get back to finishing some projects...you'll love them. Photos in a day or two, I promise.
God bless you this Easter!!
Hugs
Jenny
Love your haircut!
Hey Jenny,
What a huge change in your hair!!! I love my hair short - so easy to deal with. I'm hot most of the time anyway, but the hot flashes make it so much worse, so yes, a bare neck feels good.
I love all your stitcheries and Blossom's little cell phone bag. She's got your talent :)
Oh, and the elefanz bag is very pretty!!
Oh, wow. What a change for you! It looks wonderful on you. I have had short hair all my life and love it, but I know it must be quite a step for you to go that short. Love the new projects. Blossom gets her creative spirit from her momma. I have a blog now. www.ahugdelights.blogspot.com
I love your new "do", it really looks great on you!
Could you tell me the name of the fabrics you are using to make the quilt with. The one that has the fabric that says Be A Man. I love it, and would love to make a quilt for my Little Man who is 8 years old.
The new haircut looks great, so cool and practical. I've had mine short for years and love it. It's so easy to wash and dry too. Blossom's new back pack is fun. When my younger son was about 15 he bought himself a Tigger (as in Winnie the Pooh) backpack which he loved.
Narelle said...
Wow! Are you sure that's not two different women?
Looking great! What did the family think?
I've also recently gone short hair.
Bec said...
Looks very cool!
Sorry, but my girls said they liked your long hair better; but they are biased in favour of long hair - they think mine isn't long enough!
Enjoy the coolness and freshness of your new do!
Bluebell said...
I love the hair, what a difference, does it feel strange not to have any hair touching your neck? was this a sudden decision? it always takes me ages to decide. Blossoms cell phne case is delightful.
