Just a chat...

The days seem to pass quickly, but the nights drag on indefinitely with a new pup. You warned me about that, didn't you?!
Up and down all night, messes to clean up, the slightest sound disturbing the little one and that means another trip outside. After 5 nights of this we opted for our new family member to make herself comfortable on the back verandah. Mr Elefantz and his able assistant Mr Teenage Elefantz spent Thursday building a lovely, comfy, off-the-floor bed for Lily Rose - and bless her heart, she loves the outdoors!
Of course, Mr Elefantz is still sneaking her inside for the occasional daytime nap on the couch...
....she's a daddy's girl it seems.
~~~~~
Blossom has been patiently counting down the days this week. Today she had her hair appointment, and those lovely long locks fell to the floor. She has succumbed to the need for a cool neck here in the Tropics, and wow, she looks gorgeous with her new 'do'!
~~~~~
My Ugly Swap partner was Pat from the Narromine Quilters blog, and she worked magic with the purple fabric I sent her!
A gorgeous wallhanging, and the sweetest bag!! Thanks so much Pat!

In return, this is what I made Pat from her Ugly Swap fabric...
I designed a little rainy day stitchery and made a cover for a folding umbrella!
 Pat was thrilled because just as it arrived she had to run out in the rain and collect her grandchildren! Well timed. :-)
~~~~~
Finally my fat quarter bundle (and a few extras) of the delicious VERNA arrived from the USA...via Switzerland, and the UK. It sure has been around the world!
I plan on making a quilt with most of it.
But for right now I am working on a secret. I *can* tell you that it's a new Shabby Roses quilt, that the fabrics are Robyn Pandolph's 'Roses de Noel'...
...and it is a Christmas Theme.
I hope to have the quilt finished and the pattern ready for purchase by the end of May. That would give enough time for the quilt to be made by Christmas. I'm also planning on offering it as a 'pattern only' BOM, but I still need to work out the details of that.
In the meantime I will show you the tiniest piece of one of the blocks...
~~~~~
Due the sudden adoption of our puppy it didn't look as though I'd be able to attend the Craft Expo in Townsville this month after all, but with the Lily Rose situation now sorted I can go!
So, if you are in Townsville tomorrow at the Craft Expo, you may see Blossom and I wandering around. Mr Elefantz is driving us in and he'll trot off elsewhere for a couple of hours while we girls check out all the lovely craft stalls and stock up on a few essential sewing and crafting items. It will be a quick visit, but I'm sure we'll make the most of every moment.

Hugs
Jenny

Boy! You girls have been ruthless with your hair styles. Both very brave, but with amazingly great results. I've really enjoyed seeing what everyone has created with their ugly fat quarters. The results are anything ut ugly. Very clever, all of you. Enjoy your day out. I'm looking forward to going to the Darling Harbour event in June.

Have fun at the Craft Expo. Blossom looks so very grown-up in her new 'do' - but then, they do grow up so very fast (sniff.)

I LOVE Blossom's new hair do. Long hair is all very well, but short hair always seems to look so much more individual, and she looks great. I love the idea of an umbrella cover - is there a pattern coming soon? Have a great day out - I'm sure you deserve it after all that running around after the new puppy.

Blossoms new do looks easy to manage! A big change in your household going from long to short hair!My girls love long hair but the 6 yr old got a number 2 cut last year, after 18months of nagging to be like her brothers. She loved having short hair but now wants to grow long hair again!
We have a new puppy too, a Jack Russell boy and he loves cats. *grin* I often see him with a cats tail in his mouth! (our cats get along pretty well with our other jack russells)
You and Pat have done fantastic jobs with the ugly fat quarter swap - well done!
Verna is just a gorgeous range...so many possibilities with it.
Enjoy the expo!

Hey Jenny! We, too, have a canine Lily who was rescued from a trip to the RSPCA. A workmate of Scott's was moving to Bris and renting, so couldn't take their dog - my Beloved GB has a soft heart (and head?!?!) when it comes to adopting animals and said yes. She was a nervous nelly who nearly had a breakdown and barked the house down everytime someone visited when she first arrived and if she'd dug one more hole in my garden, I told her to make it big enough for me to bury her in! Grrrr! But after nearly two years with us she has settled down a lot and is part of the family. Glad your Lily is settling in, too! Bear Hugs! KRIS

Lily Rose is sooo cute - but she is going to be quite big I think, then she, and you, will be happy if she likes the back porch.:)

Love you very cute puppy. We have to still put our dog in the laundry at night to keep him quiet and makes it easy to shut him up if he does bark. It helps.
Love your daughters new hair cut and yours is just gorgeous too.
Pat was proudly showing off her new umbrella holder on the weekend. What a great idea. Can't wait for the pattern xx
