This 'n' that...and the T-shirt Challenge

How is your week coming along?
I wonder if it's been busy, or have you had time to grab some r & r? I hope the latter.
For those cleaning up after Hurricane Irene my heart goes out to you. Still fresh in my mind is the aftermath of Cyclone Yasi in February, and the massive clean-up through so much of our state. {{{hugs}}}

This week has been my turn for a migraine, one long one since Monday afternoon. It finally lifted this afternoon (Thursday), but my throat is sore so I wonder what next? Mr E is coming down with a cold and has a bad throat as well. Spring colds? Yuk.
Still, once the migraine subsided I was able to finish this new design whilst watching an episode of Poirot...

Kezzie dropped by for a cuppa afterwards, and after she left I made a start on a new 'Give Thanks' verse.  If I can finish it tonight, I'll share with you tomorrow. :-)
A cute thing to find as I was sewing the 1" squares for the "Live Well..." border were these 'pin flowers' that Blossom had made in one of my pincushions. I never disturbed her flowers, but smiled and thought of her everytime I need to use a pin.

 There were only three entrants in the T-shirt Challenge, but all of them were inspirational!
Robin made a dress for her grandaughter from this t-shirt...

...and Angela made a cushion from her t-shirt!

Fiona had two projects. She was really dissapointed in the first one, so she tried for a second time and was much happier.
All three ladies showed creativity, and I was inspired by all their finished projects. Well done!! \o/
 I have decided to award the Ruby charm pack to Fiona because she was able to see the funny side of the situation when her projects didn't pan out the way she'd hoped, and then she persevered and tried again!
You can read a funny story about Fiona's first challenge project HERE...
 ...and her second project and story HERE.
 Congratulations Fiona! Please email your address to me and I can post off that Ruby Charm Pack. I wonder what you'll be making with it, and if you'll have another funny story??
~~~~~
IMPORTANT: Would 'pinkquilter' and 'B. Brohl' please email me because everytime I send you an email with the link for Issue 3 of Elefantz HOME the email bounces right back at me.
~~~~~

Time now to put my feet up for the day and hopefully finish the 'Give Thanks' verse. I wonder if you've guessed what it will be?
Do you have something you'd like to give thanks for? Please leave a comment and tell me what it is - you never know, it may end up as a 'Give Thanks' design.
Hugs
Jenny

My daughter used to do the same with the pin in my pincushion. :o) Great t-shirt remakes. I am thankful for the men and women who have the courage to join the service and my son is at the top of that list.

Love your little pin flowers! Emily either sorts my pins by color, or makes patterns with them! :0)

Clever recycling of tee shirts! Those pin flowers are so sweet - kids do the cutest things!
I LOVE your latest stitchery...a close friend gave me a fridge magnet many years ago, with those words on it, and I still have it.
Don't forget to let us know which magazine your design will be in, so I can grab it as soon as it hits the shops. Unless you are going to sell it online, in which case I'd just buy it from you direct. Gotta have in one way or another!
Hope you don't get another migraine too soon. Awful, horrible things. I used to get them when I was on the pill 40 years ago, and eventually stopped taking the pill for that reason.

I'm so sorry to hear you've been suffering through another migraine, dear Jenny! And now a cold, yikes. That's just how ours started - with such a sore throat that talking was impossible. And then the cold. I hope and pray you heal quickly!

Your new design is spectacular, and I love the little "flowers" Blossom made. GREAT t-shirt projects, love that butterfly! Congrats to Fiona, I had read her posts and had to laugh - I've done the same thing.

I'm looking forward to seeing your latest Give Thanks design! I love them so much!

I'm thankful for friends - Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Oh, I thought you had canceled the tee shirt challenge. Not that I would have had time. LOL Evidently I've missed some posts with my busy retired life.
Congrats to the winner, and I love your stitching. You are so talented!
