On Sunday Mr E took Blossom and I on a drive up to Paluma.
Paluma is a tiny, tiny town with about 25 residents on top of a very high mountain. The 18 kilometre drive up the mountain is a one lane maze of steep hairpin corners all the way, and Bloss got a bit nervous during portions of the journey, especially when we were hovering at the cliff edge to let traffic coming the other way get past safely.
Eight kilometres up the mountain is Little Crystal Creek which has a beautiful old bridge and a waterfall!
We stopped there for a walk and to take pics...a lot of the area around the waterfall reminded me of Lord of the Rings and I half expected hobbits to appear...

The Little Crystal Creek Bridge is a stone-faced arch bridge in the Mount Spec Ranges built in 1933. It is the only arch road bridge that remains in service in Queensland. Crystal clear water flows down the creek filling the deep pools of Little Crystal Creek, making it an excellent natural swimming hole...

Whilst my husband and daughter snapped photos, I sat under the large trees and soaked in the beauty around me...

On the other side of the bridge the waterfall continues to make smaller falls and fills a large rock pool...

Next stop was Paluma, so after another 10 kilometre drive up and around the narrow mountain road we arrived at the cafe in time for lunch. After all our rock climbing at Crystal Creek we were hungry, and the food was amazing!

Next time we'll bring our bathers, towels, and a picnic lunch and just hang out at the waterfall, but we'd better plan it before the wet season begins in December!

What did you do over the weekend?
Hugs
Jenny

Hi Jenny - WOW! Because you chose Billie I won too! That's so exciting! Thank you so much. I sent you an email with my address. I will be making something special for my granddaughter with the fabrics.
Then to see those beautiful waterfalls, well, that just made my day. I have always loved waterfalls. Just amazing to see God's creation, either in person or through the wonder of photography.

Australia is just so darned beautiful! Every time I see pictures like yours, I want to come back SO BADLY! I can recall breathtaking beauty as in the Blue Mountains and on the south coast, along the Great Ocean Road. Oh my. Someday I want to come back. Enjoy and appreciate where you live, as I know you do.
