Something *beautiful*, Daisy Days, and some giveaway winners!

There is something that happens in my head each Autumn, and I cannot control it.
Ideas for new designs seem to dip and swirl through my mind, and my fingers work overtime to get them from these over-excited brain cells onto paper!
But I am not complaining.
The incessant heat and humidity of summer has finally passed, and it's due to summer's farewell that my whole being revives, and creativity flows spontaneously, with no effort on my part.
One of those creative afternoons was spent sketching and fine-tuning the blocks for my next Shabby Roses quilt - "Beauty".

In the next issue of Elefantz HOME e-zine we'll be starting this quilt as a 6-month mystery BOM, so I will only share one block per issue until the grand reveal of the finished quilt in October.

Here is a sneak peek of the first block from Shabby Roses "Beauty"...
This is the 10" square centre block, which features a verse, stitchery, and applique. The fabrics I am using are from Brenda Riddle's Hill Farm range, and they are gorgeous!
I wanted to keep it simple, with stitchery as the focus, so I've chosen to only use three fabrics.
If you want to join in on the Shabby Roses "Beauty" BOM, you'll need to subscribe to Elefantz HOME over HERE
The next issue, which includes this first BOM block, and more original Elefantz projects, will be emailed to all subscribers on May 3rd.

Now, here is something cute and quirky I wanted to show you!
A few weeks back I was shopping with Blossom and I saw this 'bathing beauty' jewellery stand in one of those cheap shops. I thought what a fabulous way to store all my embroidery scissors! So I bought it.
Isn't it adorable?
No more leaving them all over the house. They have a home!

Have you enjoyed seeing the 'Daisy Days' blocks as I stitch them?
There are eight in the pattern, and yesterday I finally finished block 7, "Sundaisy"...

One more feature block to stitch, and then I can piece it all together, and write the patterns!

Giveaway Winners!!

Congratulations to the two winners of my pattern pack giveaway!

From the comments left on my blog post, VANGIE is one winner, and from those who shared about the giveaway on Facebook, LARISSA is the other winner!
Ladies, please email me with your address details, and I'll parcel those patterns and post them off to you.

Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
I think I will be making soups, bread, pudding, and other autumn comfort foods.
What about you?

hugs, Jenny
xx

Hi Jenny,
Your patterns over at CRAFTSY are marvelous! Of course that is no surprise to me as your stitcheries are to die for! No, really, I love those cute little birds on the Rose designs...love, love, love them all. The Daisy designs are quite gorgeous and what a lovely idea to make the days of the week...all daisy. Beautiful. That IS a wonderful idea for storing scissors...so cute.
Anyhoo, our weather is headed toward summer and I can already tell that I am going to wish for cooler weather. For now though, I am going to enjoy the cool, rainy days we are having.
Have a lovely weekend..
big hugzzzzz

Love your blog! Needlework, recipes et al! I find it interesting that you are having fall. We are praying for spring but it doesn't seem to want to come this year.
Is it possible to obtain a sample copy of your magazine. I don't believe it is available in Canada and I might be interested in subscribing if I could peruse it. Would be happy to pay plus shipping.

Recently i saw a blog that had pictures of little houses. I was especially taken with an embroidered picture of a cottage. Alas, I can no longer find it. Can anyone tell me where that might have been. Thanks
