A day with the girls, and O!

Today was our sewing day for my little band of Mad Maids. Michelle and I drove the hour south down to Wendy's house near Ayr, and we had the best time - actually, we always have the best time when we're together!
Here are my sweet friends, happily stitching away...
(Michelle on the left, and Wendy on the right)

Wendy is stitching her framed hexies from Fee's Hexie Club. Isn't this the loveliest sentiment?

Michelle is stitching a little cushion, and she has used embroidery sections from some of my "Promises & Borders" blocks, and added a special Scripture to the centre. It's beautiful!
Psalm 119:105 Your Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.

("Promises & Borders" was my free BOM last year, and is still available to download HERE.)

Meanwhile, I was stitching a new design for a future issue of my magazine. Here's a little peek...

I love these gals, and can't wait for our next get-together!

It's Monogram Monday, and this week we're stitching *O*.

*O* for "Oh, I sure had a great time at Wendy's today!"
*O* for, "Oh boy, I am loving how my Sampler is coming along..."

What's your *O*?

 You can download *O* HERE

As I shared last week, I am working at getting the inside and outside of the house in order now that the heat of the tropical summer has finally passed. Winter here in Townsville is glorious! I am so excited about having the next three months of dedicated outdoor living to enjoy.

Bob-the-Dog has become quite interested in my attempts at gardening in pots (rental house, and not allowed to dig a garden)...

I have tomatoes now!

And my herbs are beginning to sprout...
I have parsley, basil, coriander, garlic chives, lemon thyme, and tarragon so far.

Might plant some more at the weekend. LOVE being able to grab a handful of herbs when I'm cooking.
Do you grow herbs?
What are your favourites?

Hugs
Jenny

Your sampler is looking great. I have been watching it from the letter a and really wanted to join in but didn't have the time.
I am wondering if when your finished we would be able to download all the letters at the same time.
I know I could go back and download each letter on their own but I don't like the though of wasting all that paper.

Hi Jenny! Stitching with friends sounds like a great idea!
Yesterday my kids gave me 2 basil plants and 3 tomato plants to grow on our deck. I can't plant things around the yard because we have deer who pass through and they eat everything.

Happy stitching!

Oh nothing nicer than spending a day with friends and stitching too. Love all the stitching you girls are doing. Bob the dog is too cute...he does sort of look like he is thinking 'who me?' Looks like you will have some yummy veggies.

1. What a great day - I envy you the stitching friends. I have a quilting friend who comes every Monday and uses my machine and that's fun. 2. O, how I love your designs! 3. I *do* grow herbs! I grow rosemary - it's a cinch. I usually have orange and chocolate mint, plus spearmint. I did lime basil last year. I also grow pineapple and blackberry sages. All in containers on my deck, along with cherry tomatoes and sweet banana peppers.
