Someone missed her mummy, and gathering for my new BOM...

My Blossom-girl missed her mummy while I was away on my little retreat.
She missed me so much that she celebrated when I came home with surprise gifties!
She knows I'm rather partial to anything Cath Kidston so her first gift of a CK pamper pack was gorgeous...
And look at the name of the fragrance - 'blossom'!
Next parcel she blessed me with contained a few reminders of my 'Owl Dreaming' Beauty block.
Owls and owls...love them!
What a precious homecoming from my Blossom-girl. xx
Have I shown you her new hair style? She's gotten herself the prettiest fringe!
On Friday I will share Blocks 1 & 2 of my very pretty, very new, Shabby Roses "Home" BOM.
This will run over 10 months,  and contains double blocks for the first nine months, and a single block and quilt assembly in the final month.

Shabby Roses "Home" is a scrap quilt, so choose a colour palette you like and dig through your stash for scraps of fabric you can use.
I chose leftover fabrics from previous projects, plus some orphan fat quarters...
All mine are stored in a medium sized plastic tub so that as I make each block I can choose the applique fabrics from what's inside.
You will need about half a yard of ONE fabric to be used in small quantities through each applique block. This will bring some unity into the blocks. I chose a small aqua blue pindot as my unifying print...

My block backgrounds are white hanky linen, but you can use any solid or pale tonal that you have on hand.
Perhaps you have a stash of red fabrics, or blue fabrics? A redwork or bluework quilt would be gorgeous! Be adventurous.
Tomorrow I'll share more about background fabric quantities, preparing the blocks, and the finished size and layout.
There are no exact quantities for any quilting fabric used though - I'm just using scraps

If you intend stitching along I'll also have a grab button you can add to your blog, and I might even have a giveaway to celebrate the quilt launch on Friday.

Now, I'm off to play with something else that's new...

hugs
Jenny

like you I like Cath Kidston things and often pop into her shop here in Leeds to browse. Fringe looks good, they are so fashionable here in the UK at the moment, tempted to get one but think i am a bit too old!!
Your BOM is looking good.

Your daughter is gorgeous. You must be very proud of her. What a sweet homecoming she provided you.

I am enjoying the mornings this week doing crafts for vacation Bible school. You have given me something to look forward to on Friday. It's been a rough couple of weeks here. Friday provides me a respite to get back to my hand work that has been set aside to prepare for VBS.

Have a blessed day. God bless you.

Isn't it wonderful to know how much you were missed - Blossom's new haircut looks lovely. Your new BOM looks so pretty. Just wish I could keep up - I am still stitching 'Shabby Angels' from your magazine - and loving it! Quiet time stitching is a joy. Have a lovely week Jenny xoxo

Loving Blossom's hair like that. She is such a pretty young thing and obviously adores her Mum. What is she going to be like when she lives in England Jenny, the mail man will be flat out.
