Sewing day with the girls, and Blossom....

Sewing day this fortnight was at Heather's house, and this time Blossom joined Heather, Michelle, Wendy and I.
She knows I come home after these sewing days with sore sides from laughing so much and wanted to check out for herself just what really goes on!

Blossom and Heather certainly hammed it up in the kitchen...

...but all in good fun!

The food, as usual, was amazing.
In fact Wendy and I couldn't get enough of Heather's 'Raspberry & Pear' cake!

Heather brought out the good china, which Bloss and I adore.
In fact, Blossom stepped into Jane Austen mode and from memory, recited the entire first page of "Pride & Prejudice" before taking her first sip from the tea cup.

Stitching WAS done, though not as much as we'd planned. You see we talk and laugh so much - plus we eat, and drink copious amounts of tea and coffee! By some miracle we 'fit in' a few stitches here and there....

Lunch: Heather made these divine stuffed chicken rolls wrapped in prosciutto, and served with salad. YUMMMMMM....

As well as stitching and quilting, Heather also makes beautiful paper crafts, but today she surprised us again by showing another of her skills - making jewellery.
Wendy, Blossom and I dropped 'not so subtle' hints about Christmas and birthday gifts.  Aren't these lovely!?

Another super special day with Heather, Michelle and Wendy!
I am blessed to call these girls my friends, and to be able to stitch with them - but we share so much more than sewing and food.
We share our lives - the ups and downs - and we are all the better for each others love, and support, and prayers.
Today Blossom saw this, and agreed that we four were made for each other.
I don't have a very big circle of friends. In fact these girls are the only friends I see face to face. But that is a good thing, because we have time to invest in our relationship. Time. It really is a beautiful gift to offer your friends, and mine offer it to me with love attached.
Yep. I'm blessed.

hugs

Jenny

Jenny, it's always fun to see what fun you gals have BUT........how can you possibly leave us with our mouths watering over a 'pear and raspberry cake' and not give the recipe???

Love the smiles and good china! So excited - found some lovely fabric for my Elephantz Christmas Table Runner at my lunch time wander into my local fabric store! Another one to start - I hope I can finish. I figure I'm spending 10 hours on a flight to Hong Kong for work next month - good chance to handsew!

Looks like an awesome day. Good friends, yummy food and a little bit of stitching. That sounds about right. Having fun is very productive.

Friends are really the best blessing we have, aren't they. I thank God for giving me such good and loyal friends.

Such a lovely post, I really enjoyed reading it. I hope one day to be doing the same thing, such fun and great memories. Love the earrings, my favourites are the pink stone ones.
