Simple and quick Christmas gifts to make...

In keeping with my recent posts about letting fabrics from your stash 'shine', here are two projects of mine from a few years back would be great stash buster gifts for Christmas or birthdays - plus a very pretty idea for making your own gift wrap!

Fat 1/4 Gift Wrapper
(see the step by step tutorial HERE)

The Baskets
(see the step by step basket and bow tutorial HERE)
Two fat quarters per basket, plus a scrap of contrast fabric for the bow!

Pressed Flower Gift Wrap
And what about some pretty wrapping paper?
All you need is a roll of waxed lunch paper from your supermarket, and flower petals!
(see the step by step tutorial HERE)

If you have simple gift ideas to use up your stash or fabric scraps, leave a comment below so everyone can read it and be inspired!
Let's help each other make use of what we have in order to bless those we care about.

Hi Jenny - one of my best friends is an avid embroiderer so I am going to make up one of your Fat 1/4 wrappers and put embroidery thread inside it for a Christmas gift. Thank you for the fantastic idea. Jo

Clever girl! That's a fabulous idea!
Mmm...and lace would be another goodie to pop inside...

I teach a sewing class to 16 homeschoolers on Friday afternoons. For a couple weeks, we are going to work on projects using leftover fabric. I am going to show them how to make pincushions, coasters, and potholders. We are also going to use old jeans to make potholders and/or totebags. Whatever they would like to do.

These are lovely ideas, thank you for sharing. I like the gift wrapping too- all my ideas of gift wrapping with my children always centered around plain brown paper, I guess at the time that was the cheapest for us, but yours is prettier!

Thanks so much for sharing your lovely ideas with us, Jenny.
I am busy making lavender drawer sachets for our Lurcher Rescue that people can bid on in our Christmas auction to raise additional funds for our homeless rescue hounds. It will help to buy some tasty little treats for each and everyone at Christmas. :)
