Order restored, and then rest...

There were some wise comments left under yesterday's blog post.
Thank you, ladies...but I didn't read them until 'after' a full eight hours of re-organisation, so today (having not heeded that excellent advice) my chest is aching again and my throat is back to that nasty razor sensation. I feel okay, just sore and heavy.
A few days rest is ahead of me to avoid any further flu relapse.

So shall I show you the fruit of yesterday's labour anyhow? I now have clean lines in two rooms...order from my chaos. I took all these pics early this morning after sharing a cuppa with Blossom.

The Creative Space, where I sketch and plan and prepare to stitch...

The Office and Fabric Storage Room, where I hide my fabrics away from the glaring tropical sunlight of the Creative Space, and where I handle the 'business' side of Elefantz (and write my blog posts!)...

I'd do things differently if this was not a rental home, and if I was allowed to hang things on the walls, but for what I *can* do, this is lovely and bright and inspiring.

Now to rest up for the rest of the week and thankfully I have some sweetness to keep me occupied. Next February I have a quilt design that will feature in Homespun magazine and I wanted to make it with the Flower Sugar fabric range from Lecien.
I ordered a bundle from Eve at fabricdirect.com.au and her express parcel of total prettiness arrived yesterday...

Great service, great communication, and her shop has a choice of fabrics that melt my designer heart to pieces. If you're in Australia, you might like to have a little browse HERE.

Right now, though, I'm off to brew a pot of Vanilla Rose Tea and grab my stitching, and catch up with Downtown Abbey...no complaints to be heard from me at all...

hugs

Looks good - I did a similar thing over the long weekend and I can now see the floor :) Not the same story today though after a night at the machine - Chaos has returned !

I wanted to send along good thoughts and wellness for your room re-do but it seems I'm a little late to the party! I am a nurse by profession and fully understand how quickly a relapse can change the course of your recovery. Hopefully, a little rest will get you back up. I chuckle to myself that you have to deal with all that sunlight! I live in Southwestern Pennsylvania. We have more cloudy days than infamous Seattle, Washington. Combine that with the fact that my current Studio has no windows, none. Our problems are very different but I surely wish I was as organized as you are now! Take care, be well.

Your spaces look great.. I need to do the same thing. When it starts getting this "crowded" I start getting snarky and I know it is time to put the creative end on hold and clean up..

Hope you are feeling better tomorrow.

Now for that rest and recuperation for complete healing.

Jenny, You should come back to melbourne and do mine. I have a single bed right in the middle of it so hard to work around it. Take care of you. Hugs Lynette Bramman.

I know I shouldn't covet my neighbour's sewing space, but.........................could I swap it for my messy place. Your rooms are so restful and calm looking. Enjoy working there when you are fully recovered.xx

What a lovely space you have to be creative! The big windows with lots of light coming in is perfect. I sew by the bay window in my kitchen during the day where the light is the best. Thanks for sharing with us. Now go rest and get better! Prayers for you to be healed and soon! xoxo

How much room do you have for your hobbies??? It seems a whole house!!!!
I thought you wiser than risking your health by reorganizing your house after such serious flue.
Hope that it will nog have any terrible consequences.
Kind regards,

Well, Jenny, I hope you have rested since our last "chat"!! Your rooms look lovely, but the cost was a bit too steep!! Rest, drink you teas and juices and allow your body to heal! If you were 18, you could get away with your insane behavior...but neither of us is even close any more :) I know that mentally you will be refreshed by your tidy creative spaces, time for the body to catch up!!! Don't you love it when your readers scold you like you were a favorite child?? Guess that's because we do care about you, our cyber-friend!

Both rooms look lovely and best of all well organized and useful. The pink against those red walls is beautiful. Take it easy now and rest. Loved this post and it makes me more ready than ever to get the planned changes made in my sewing space! Thanks for sharing.

Your craft room looks so NEAT! You've given me ideas for mine…..after I stitch a bit, I'll work on better organizing my room ;)

The organizing was definitely worth doing, but I'm sorry you are a little back-slid on the healing. I'm sure more rest and episodes will help.

Bright....sun-shiney....airy.....open.....gorgeous space! No wonder you're feeling a bit down and under ....all that hard work! Hope the aches leave you soon and you can go and enjoy all that beautiful space!

As an aside...I've not had success tracking any primacolour pencils here...and they only have the zig in black....but I have bought another set of pencils (and the zig!) ...and will definitely be trying the colour technique soon!

Your rooms look so inviting Jenny, everything fitting so well like they all belong, hope the fabric fading solved, downside of having such lovely open sunlit spaces but bit of reorganisng fixes. Well part of you feels good about your hard work, hope the rest of you does very soon with much needed rest. Your new fabrics look lovely too. I'm posting off a handmade birthday gift today, feeling good about that, (crocheted and embroidered lavender bags of course, to a very dear longtime friend now resident in an Melb nursing home). 3 more birthdays this month to craft for and on track, collecting so many ideas from your lovely projects and stitching. Sending wishes for full recovery very soon. Hugs, Judithann :-)
