"A Wedding Is Announced"...

If you're anything like me, you immediately thought from the title of this blog post that someone was about to announce upcoming nuptials, right?
Sorry to disappoint you, but there's no news on the horizon of a wedding about to happen in our family.

But I do have a beautiful new wedding memory stitchery pattern for you, and it was inspired by the wedding of one of my five daughters, two and half years ago.
Aisha married Tim,  and for the longest time I've been toying with the idea of a framed 'wedding memory' I could stitch and frame so they'd have a very personal reminder of their special day.
Sometimes, even though I want it, a design just won't form in my imagination...until it's meant to.

Choosing the right frame to display the stitchery was easy! I had seen some at a shop nearby so headed off yesterday morning to purchase one - and boy was I blessed because it was the very last on their shelf and they won't be ordering any more. More importantly, it was the exact colour I needed...

When I showed some peeks of this being stitched a couple of weeks ago on the Elefantz Facebook Page I was swamped with requests for the pattern, so I thought about it, and decided it might be nice to put three designs in the pattern instead of just one.
You might have recipients with longer names than my daughter and son-in-law, so the larger two designs will work perfectly for you.

The first design (the one above that I've stitched for Aisha and Tim)  measures 3 1/2" x 7", allowing a 1/4" buffer around all sides.
The second design is a larger version of the first, measuring 5" x 10".
The third design is completely different and has two love birds perched in the middle of the bunting. It measures 3 1/2" x 9".
I've also included the full hand drawn alphabet in upper case cursive, lower case cursive, lower case print, and numbers.

The reverse templates for the applique bunting flags used in all three designs are also included in the pattern, but you may like to simply stitch them instead. That's the joy of a project isn't it? Making it to suit *you*.

It also occurred to me that you could use these designs as birth announcements - what do you think?
The instant downloadable pdf pattern is HERE in the shop today.

My Shabby Roses Churn Dash quilt is almost finished!
Next week I shall reveal it to you, and you can decide if you're going to follow my layout or plan one of your own.
Today I have Block 9, "believe", ready as a $2 purchase HERE in the shop...

If you missed Wednesday's blog post I shared a simple tutorial for easy hand quilting of shapes onto your project without making marks on your fabric...

You can see this tutorial HERE.

I love Fridays. They are just one sleep away from Saturdays. And I always enjoy my Saturdays.
I hope your weekend is wonderful!

hugs

As always, you are generous with your talents, and give so much for a small price. Thanks for these wonderful designs. I am not likely to make a wedding remembrance, but I thought this would be great for a baby piece, too - and you've included the alphabets to do anything!

Hello Jenny,
is the wedding pattern still available? I don't find it in your shop. I would love to stitch it for my friends wedding.
Greetings from Austria
