a slow weekend...

Low cloud and suspended yet-to-fall rain tends to trigger my migraines.
Such was the weekend.
When the rain did fall my migraine had gone too far and could not be diverted.
People are always intrigued that I can still function to some extent with a migraine, but when you have had them as your life companion and still had to mother seven babies you simply have no choice but to stay calm and carry on. I admit though, I manage them better these days with my diet, but the weather triggers are sadly out of my league.
So between resting and medication I prepared pretty things to stitch over the week ahead...in case my head intends continuing this game of pain.

A vintage style needlebook from Kerryanne English's 'Shabby Art Boutique' shop - (her e-patterns will be retired on Friday)...

A free gift pattern for new subscribers to the Stitchery Club. I love the colours in this fabric so shall endeavour to use them as inspiration for thread choice in my design...

...as well as in this new pattern by Cori from Chitter Chatter Designs. Isn't it lovely?

Cori's pretty "Tea for Two" design is part of a fun blog hop organised by the ever amazing Mdm Samm over at Sew We Stitch.
My version will feature applique (my split applique technique I think - see it HERE)

You can join in too - head over HERE to Sew We Stitch for all the details...

I'll take things slow today as my body tends to need a day or two recovery time after a migraine so Princess Sophie is settled nearby in her basket to keep me company, a piece of silverside is simmering in the crockpot (Mr E's second-favourite dinner), and my stitching is prepared...

have a delightful week,

hugs

I hope the migraine nastiness goes away soon. I know how that hurts, from the few weather-induced ones I've had. Thankfully few. Your plans for the week look great! I loved the look of your new stitchery to invite people to join. I'll have to mention it on my cq blog.

Hope you will be back up to speed soon Jenny. Thanks for asking - yes we are having a lovely time in Spain despite weather not being so good as last year - distinctly chilly at times. xx

Dear Jenny,
So sorry about the migraine. I used to have those too. My GP finally sent me to a Neurologist who put me on a migraine preventative that I take every day. After about two weeks of getting it into my system I haven't had a migraine since. As I was having them 5-6 times a week this was nothing short of miraculous. I know you have said in past posts that you had tried everything. I thought I had also. I had tried all of the migraine relief pills. They didn't work. I had to wait my migraines out. This is different, it prevents them.
On a different front I can't find the "Tea for Two". I have been to the site and can't find it. I tried to go to it from Madame Samme's and it would not allow me. Since you have obviously found it would you please help me out?

I hope your migraine is fading away. I too suffer from migraines. I know most of my triggers and can avoid them, but, as you say, the weather related ones are out of our control. I live in Canada in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Because of our proximity to the mountains we get 'Chinook Winds'. They change the barometric pressure and bring on the migraines. Chinooks are wonderful because the temperature goes way up to shorts and flip flop weather but not much fun if you are laying in a darkened room!
i do have a question, what is silverside?
