Back to sewing...

Whilst I've been busy this week working on the final free Rosedaisy tutorial for Friday's blog post...

...I keep getting distracted by 'other' sewing things.
Thank you to the lovely ladies who've been telling me about some great sewing sites on the web via email and comments - they were so good that I needed share some with my readers!

Wendy's Vintage Pattern Files blog has wonderful vintage patterns from the 1800's through to the 1970's to make all sorts of clothing and homely items.
It even has a genuine vintage embroidery book as a free download!
Visit her blog HERE...

Take a tea break to wander through All Free Sewing HERE. You need to sign up for the newsletter to gain access, but it's free and worth it. This site also has a blog HERE which has loads of sewing ideas and helps.

As I have two baby granddaughters I've downloaded this free book already...

One thing high on my list to sew is cotton nightwear (perfect for life in the tropics). I want to embroider a bodice with my own design, and need something like this...

...but it will be a shortish nightgown because I love pajama pants and would prefer to make a set of top and pants.
If you know of a pattern suitable could you leave the details in the comments below please?
If I can find the right pattern perhaps we could have a bodice stitch-a-long if I share the embroidery design.  Quite a gently domestic fun project don't you think?

Other News:

Even though I'm not releasing the Simple Alphabet Sampler pattern outside of the Stitchery Club until January 2016, I did bend to the requests to publish the individual pattern for "Home Sweet Home", so if you aren't a Club member but loved this design and would like to stitch it, the PDF pattern is now available HERE in my Craftsy Shop...

Okay, enough playtime for me, must get back to work. I have photos to format and a tutorial to write (and a bathroom that needs scrubbing!)
But it's all worth it because you'll love making what I'm going to teach you tomorrow...
Any guesses on what it is??

Enjoy your day!
hugs,

I read your blog often, but rarely comment. Thank you for your lovely and inspiring posts. I did find two patterns that might work for an embroidered yoke though, Butterick 6838 or Kwik Sew 3595. Hopefully you can find one that will work for you!

I always enjoy reading your blog. It has a sense of calm from the colors you use and inspiration from all that you share. I especially enjoy what I call your Sunday sermons. You have a way of delivering a message and I look forward to them each Sunday.

Oh, such a teaser! I love nightgowns in this style - also short is better. I will look around for a pattern and see what I can find.
