The Hussif - version 2...

In preparation for the epic Hussif tutorial I'll be sharing over five days next week I've made a second version for those of you who prefer patchwork to embroidery.
Using a layer cake of Lecien's "Antique Rose" I chose to fussy cut the sections which featured hand embroidery in my original Hussif (see it here) allowing the fabric to be the star this time round...

Here's a few sneak peeks before my full reveal on Monday...

I still have to add the binding and a few extra 'pretties' but it's only hours away from completion now.
Rather exciting!

I guess you know what I'll be doing today.

What sewing will you be doing this weekend?

hugs

That's lovely Jenny. When I did the chair caddies - I had Hannah sew 2 darling hedgehogs but she didn't get them finished before leaving for England so I used 2 panels I had - so it is lovely to be able to use special fabric that can shine in a creation.

How wonderful to see you create a hussiif wth these beautiful fabrics. I think I shall follow your tutorial using fabrics for my first hussif...then my second one can be slower paced and include lots of your amazing stitching designs. Thank you as always Jenny Dear for sharing so generously. Saturday Sunshine Smiles...

How pretty! I love the idea of using the fabric that way. What fun, and it is just as beautiful as the last one. I'm finishing quilting with my walking foot so I can bind next week and get a charity quilt in the mail. It's going better than expected, since this is so not my thing!
