Out in nature....

With four days to rest and recuperate from over-work and health challenges, Mr E and I spent quality time over the Easter break out in nature with our cameras close at hand.

Good Friday night we drove up the mountain to capture sunset pics, but got side-tracked by the kangaroos feeding around the grounds of the Heritage Tea Rooms. It wasn't till we got home and I was transferring the pictures from camera to computer that I discovered the little joey sitting in his mama's pouch so I've enlarged those sections for my dear overseas readers who don't get to see kangaroos the way we in the countryside of Australia regularly do.

On Easter Sunday we packed fresh baked muffins, drove through Zarraffas to grab a couple of delicious cappuccinos, and headed north to Saunders Beach...

These few days of holidaying-at-home have lifted our souls, refreshed our spirits, and relaxed our minds so well that we've been out and about in the early morning or at dusk with our cameras every day, a hobby we'd almost lain aside over the long hot spring and summer.

Taking the focus off work, and letting your eyes rest on the beauty of nature is a tonic that cannot be purchased over a counter. It's a free gift, we just need to close the door at home and go exploring.

hugs

So happy you had time to relax and do some drives. Thanks for showing those little joeys; amazing as I've only seen them on t.v. or in books.

The small kangaroo is so sweet! I would want to be kangaroo mother to take my daughter with me always,at least until she reaches ... sixty years old? :))). She is a teenager. I know she is not agree with me :)). I've never seen a kangaroo, only on TV. That must be great. And the beautiful scenery, and cafes with scones ... I'm glad that you are rested. Thanks for sharing the precious photos. Hugs.

Love the kangaroo pix- always thought that the baby would sit higher. Thanks for the beach photos. I grew up on the Atlantic Ocean and miss it terribly. I went to sleep with the sound of the surf, didn't know how amazing it was at the time. There's something about the water that just drains the tension from a body, so restorative. Glad you had a little vacation.

Thank you for the pictures of the joeys with their mommas!! Where I live, we see deer all the time and I enjoyed seeing the kangaroos when I was in Australia. Your beach pictures are so lovely - I was just in Hawaii for 6 weeks visiting my daughter and so enjoyed getting my toes in the sand. Yesterday we were blessed with almost a foot of snow, so I'm really missing the warm sand!!! I always enjoy your pictures and stories - thank you for taking the time to share them with us!!

thanks for sharing the pictures of the kangaroos, I love those little joeys. I live in the USA (North Carolina in the foothills of the mountains)We may see deer, bears, raccoons, squirrels or rabbits but no kangaroos..thought I would share a cute story of kangaroos...my husbands name is Joey and when I babysat my nephew he called him boo-boo (never would call him Joey). We had a book on animals and their babies and when he was about two it was his favorite book...I would turn the pages and he would name the animals and their babies (like a cow and a calf) One day when it was the kangaroo picture he called the baby a boo-boo! So when I see kangaroos, I think baby boo-boo! Thanks for sharing your part of the world and your inspirations!

Gorgeous photos Jenny! It's so good that you both could get some time together just 'chilling out' and re-energising. I just love photos of kangaroos and absolutely adore the ones you took with the Joey. xx

I enjoyed your pictures. I have never seen a joey actually in it's mother's pouch. I just love the way you capture the water in the picture after the one of the picnic table in front of the water. In the next picture of the boat in the water, I keep thinking isn't it awfully shallow there for it not to get stuck? I am also amazed at the variety of trees in the pictures. Glad you had a great Easter-cation.

Thanks for the photos of your days off. Kangaroos always seem so interesting to me, and wallabies, too. What wonderful places you are blessed to live in and near. I expect the time spent together doing anything would have been refreshing. You caught the sparkle of the water, too!

Beautiful pictures! I especially like the one of the water lapping the beach. That one wave edge looks golden in color. Beautiful variations on the water.

Such lovely pictures thank you for sharing. Wow, how neat it must be to see kangaroos as a normal occurrence. I never tire of seeing wildlife, even the jack rabbits and deer I see almost daily. Glad you both had a nice relaxing holiday.
