Fabric requirements for the tutorial tomorrow...

Tomorrow is the big day!
We'll be making this set of hanging pockets (see more photos here)...

Between now and then you may like to gather supplies from your fabric stash or order online from your favourite quilt shop if you need to.

I've used my "Days of the Week" stitcheries as the main feature on these hanging pockets, but you could use orphan stitcheries you already have, small paper pieced hexie blocks, or fussy cut sections of fabric.

The seven 'day' stitcheries from Days of the Week are trimmed to 5 1/2" square for this project so keep your blocks within that size.

I've used three fabrics from Tilda's "Sweetheart" range. The blue tonal is the backing for my pockets and the cream and blue florals became the pockets, quilt and binding.
I chose a small print, medium print, and large print...

Here are the measurements of fabric you will require for this project...

You'll also require a piece of medium weight fusible Pellon (I used Vlieseline H640)  measuring 15 inches x 38 inches.

In Australia we cut fabrics by the metre. This equates to 39" x WOF (width of fabric), 3" more than the American yard, which is why the cream tonal fabric is given as 1 metre or 1.1 yards.

If you'd like to stitch the "Days of the Week" designs from the May Stitchery Club before making your pockets I have added the complete May issue to my Craftsy Shop HERE and my Etsy Shop HERE.

I hope you're going to be sewing along tomorrow (or someday soon) as a pretty set of hanging pockets is rather useful to have in your home.
Have I convinced you?

be blessed dear readers,
till tomorrow,

Good Morning Jenny! You can bet your bottom dollar that I will be following along! I need some new "storage" areas and this will be used for some very special items. Just not sure which items yet...I have a lot of items that could be stored in this. Thank you for doing this project. Have a fantastic creative day!

A very lovely design. I don't think I'll be making it tomorrow, but soon I'll make a not-stitchery one, to try it out, and make all my mistakes. =)
