Those small things...

After all the excitement of this past week today I gave myself permission to stop, breathe, and allow my thoughts to return to some sense of normality.
It wasn't easy though, because oh how I'm loving those precious 'new baby' cuddles with Cully May!
She's a calm little angel who makes my heart go hippity hop along the road to grandmother bliss. I guess you can tell I'm in love?

But life must return to semi-normality (I mean, will it ever be the same with a grand baby just minutes away??) and I have a business to run, designs to stitch, a home to 'keep', and a husband to happily fuss over.

Actually, I think he's the one fussing the most lately, over me.
No complaints about that, though. Mr E is my knight in shining armour, a man who every day does little things that bless me and make life easier. He's my shoulder to lean on and my one true love.

Which is why I made the "Great Love" stitchery into a mini pillow to sit on my bedside table.

It reminds me not only of Mother Teresa and her legacy of selfless love poured out every day upon the poorest of the poor, the sick and unloved, but of the many small acts of love my husband does for me - both seen and unseen.

It inspires me to keep things simple, to remember that being kind and doing good doesn't have to be a huge undertaking which threatens to overwhelm me, but it can be many small things done unnoticed which make a positive difference to someone's life.

It's a reminder to not be selfish, to love others more than myself.
A reminder I need to see every morning as I climb out of bed and begin a new day because I'm not always kind and some days selfishness rules in my heart...but that can change.

Do small things with great love.
Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

A word in season, every season.

The pattern for this little sack pillow will be inside August's issue of The Stitchery Club.

have a blessed day,

Good Morning Jenny! What a wonderful message; I know it is one that I need to see and be reminded of. So thank you for sharing it. Mr. E in many ways that you describe him makes me think of my own husband. I thank the Lord every day for bringing him into my life! I am so thrilled at how you are describing your feelings and how life is going to change with a new grandbaby right next door. How exciting and so fabulous! Enjoy every moment, but Mr. E is right take care of yourself also! Have a fantastic creative day!
