A few years ago (quite a few actually) instead for making a list of New Years resolutions I decided to make a list of the things I needed and pray those needs to God. I would sometimes even make a side note of how I thought God would meet me needs. (most of the needs were in the way of home repairs that were needed and there were many since I am single at this point in my life.) I love to go back at the end of the year and see how God had met those needs and how many things were now off the list. And it was interesting to see that most times I had thought I knew how God would meet those needs, He did it in a completely different way. God does want us to come to Him about every need, He loves being our Provider. It is so wonderful to see His hand in our lives. At New Year's resolutions I fail everytime, but praying my needs to God, He always meets them! I love your blog, so uplifting! And then as I read further I realized that it IS a short sweet caring sermon that we can all learn from. If I may, I would like to use your comments in a sermon in my church. Your words were ones that I truly needed to read (as tears roll down my face in conviction). Thank you for starting my day by touching my heart.<br />RevTrudyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14553884317657427053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5738183327129723042.post-11970669488075570432016-02-08T12:13:11.774+10:002016-02-08T12:13:11.774+10:00Amazing, Jenny. I have no trouble asking for things for others, but sometimes I won't ask for myself. I think all of us forget that whatever family position gave us experience, whatever marital experience affected us, whatever caused any of our experiences, it's all worldly, and God is a whole 'nother kind of giver and parent! And pride? Oh, yes. I can do it all myself ... only I can't, and I've been trying to remember that I'm not supposed to. I liked the analogy of things on the top shelf. Thanks for a great Sunday thinking time!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5738183327129723042.post-72903247663459683372016-02-08T06:29:34.097+10:002016-02-08T06:29:34.097+10:00Oh my gosh, thank-you so very much, I really neede...Oh my gosh, thank-you so very much, I really needed this inspiration today, what a blessing you are.mrsmcbeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15386844386346436748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5738183327129723042.post-39308715465594034882016-02-08T04:34:41.825+10:002016-02-08T04:34:41.825+10:00I am very much the same way, Jenny. It truly can be a very difficult task or burden to bear. When we do ask the Lord for help it alone always makes me feel better instantly; so your message is so important for all of us to do. Thank you for sharing and I want you to know that I do keep you and your family in my prayers. Just yesterday I did it, not once but twice! As I have gotten older I have "shrunk" apparently almost two inches... so those top shelves are now nearly impossible to reac AND in the case of yesterday what I needed had been pushed back to the back.
