Sewing, knitting and gifts

It's hot in Esperance today so we shut the house up and sat inside with the fans roaring while we knitted and sewed.

I finished the log cabin quilt top yesterday, now Blossom is knitting a trauma teddy to post to Karen for the bushfire quilt/teddy appeal. I also have some fabric to send and one of the cot quilts from my Etsy store.

At the moment I am finishing a lap quilt for my grandchildren using the Noah's Ark blocks I stitched from Lynette Anderson's BOM.

A lovely surprise arrived in the mail today!
Maree arranged the Birthday Fat 1/4's Swap for 2009, and with my 50th birthday just 9 days away I've been quite excited at the prospect of receiving a lovely collection of fat 1/4's in the mail over the next week or two.

Jeni's parcel arrived today, so prettily wrapped...

...and the fabrics are exactly what I would have chosen myself! Thanks so much Jeni!!

Hopefully the cool change will come soon and I can get back to the sewing machine for some piecing...I'm sort of ready to put the embroideries on the shelf for a little while and take time out to sew some blocks.
Do you find you get really hot sitting at the sewing machine?? I do, even in winter!

God bless,
Jenny

It's always nice to receive feedback on a blog post, so *thank you* for taking time to comment!
I will try to reply via email unless you are a 'no reply blogger' which means you'll have to check for my reply in the comments. Of course, life is a rather hazardous activity, isn't it? So if I don't respond to your comment that's the reason why - life simply stepped in...
hugs
Jennifer
