Dear friends,
I'm sure many of you know of the monster cyclone about to hit the North Queensland coast in the next 16 hours.
It is the biggest cyclone to ever hit Australia, and we are no strangers to tropical cyclones every summer, so this is quite frightening.
Our little town will be affected badly. I am asking you to pray for us all, every one of us facing this disaster. It is now Category 5, and we are to prepare for Category 3 or 4 to hit our little town.
I have friends in towns up here that are as scared as I, and we are all joining in prayer for each other.
In our own home we have battened down what we can, and will lock ourselves in the most secure room of the house. We have glass louvre windows all around the house, and these are of great concern to us as the wind already whistles up through them, but with a cyclone...
Pray. Just pray for all of us affected in North Queensland. We have been told we will receive 1,000 ml of rain in our town - that is unfathomable to me.
You can track the cyclone HERE throughout the coming hours,
God bless us all,
Jenny
Jenny, I am so afraid for you and your family and of course everyone else in the line of the cyclone. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Hang on tight!
ReplyDeleteLove & hugs, Karen
Hope to hear from you when the storm is passed.
May God be with you and your townsfolk. Love and best wishes from across the ditch ... Rose, Christchurch NZ

I will be praying for you and all the people in that area. I've no idea of cyclones, never had more than hurricanes up North (New York). Please let us in blogland out here know how everything is from time to time when you can.
ReplyDeleteJenny, You, your family and all of N Queensland are in my thoughts and prayer. Will continue praying for you until we hear from you again. Stay safe. Karen

ReplyDeleteYou know I'm on my knees, darling girl - update us when you can.
ReplyDeleteWithout warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!" He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. Matthew 8:24-26
Jenny-girl, I know you're afraid. I am too. And Jesus knows you're afraid. I can almost hear Him say "why are you so afraid?" in the most gentle and loving tones. When the wind howls, He loves you. When it's calm, He loves you. I'm as sure of this as I am of anything. Cling to the knowledge that He loves you, He sees you, He hears you and is right there with you. I know I'll be clinging to it for you, as I pray for you. Love you, my dear girl.
Will be praying for you all....

I am watching the news and checking the link you posted here. The cyclone is hitting you right now and prayers are going up.
ReplyDeleteKeep them safe, dear Lord.
Jenny, I feel so helpless. The thoughts of you facing this brings tears to my eyes. You, and all of Queensland, are in my thoughts. I hope that with the ample warning, preparations will save lives. As devastating as it will be, material possessions can be replaced. Stay safe, sweet Jenny.
ReplyDeleteDearest Jenny,
ReplyDeleteYou are constantly in my prayers, and you and your country are on prayer lists of churches across America. You are being held continuously before the Lord.
You've been given many precious scriptures--stand fast on them. One of my favorites that I go to time and time again is Psalm 46. It begins with:
"God is my refuge and strength, a VERY PRESENT help in trouble. Therefore I WILL NOT FEAR, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried away to the very midst of the sea."
Later, in verse 10, we're told, "Be still, and know that I AM GOD." Be still, Jenny. God is in Queensland. God is in your home, in your inner room. Know that He is there. Be still and see the wondrous salvation of your Lord.
I will also be still, and wait to hear of the wondrous salvation He has for you and your precious family.

Bin in Gedanken bei Euch und werde beten.
