The thing I enjoy most about stitching is the calmness it
ReplyDeletebrings into my life. In the
midst of all the busyness
of each day there is a little
bit of quiet when I'm stitching
in my favorite chair.

Congrats on 2000! I love projects that combine stitchery with piecing. I watch (too much) tv in the evenings with my hubby, and my hands always have to be busy.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Well deserved for sure. :) Stitching, for me, is a place of peace, of centering myself, of losing focus on worldly things and seeing only the creation as it evolves. The weight of the day rolls off and my spirit feels light. blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. That is a huge accomplishment. I enjoy stitching tiny little hand sewing with needle and thread to see how precise I can make the tiniest of stitches. Kind of like the days of yore. Blessings...
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny
ReplyDeleteStitching is my relaxation -much prefer it to machine sewing!!! And I seem to always do stitcheries that involve words and saying.
Thanks for the giveaway and we all look forward to seeing your new designs next year.....
Angela....
Congratulations Jenny! I am so delighted to be one of those 2000 happy followers :*) What I enjoy stitching most right now is the Promises & Borders blocks! You have awakened in me a love for embroidery that I had long ago forgotten in the turmoil of life. This is the first embroidery project I have done in many, many years. I am behind in getting them done, but I can't tell you how many happy, peaceful hours I have spent stitching along on them. Thank you Jenny for generously sharing these blocks with us, but also for sharing so much of yourself. Hugs & Blessings on you and yours this Thanksgiving season - even there in Australia :*)
ReplyDeleteWell, congratulations dear Jenny. Being Canadian, we celebrated our Thanksgiving last month (the second Monday in October.)
ReplyDeleteAt the moment I am cross stitching an ornament for my little grandson. I enjoy hand quilting too because I love to see the design that's raised once the stitches are put in.
Hi Jenny: Stitching is the time when I quiet my mind and let the stress leave. I couldn't survive without it. I enjoy your blog and your journey.
ReplyDeleteI love hand stitching my quilt bindings down. Whenever I've tried doing it with the machine, I'm just not satisfied.
ReplyDeleteI love doing hand work and really just about anything. I have been enjoying working on your monthly blocks. Thank you and congrats on 2000.
ReplyDeleteThey are right when they say stitching is better than therapy (I say with experience!). Stitching relaxes me & makes me forget a stressful work day, it makes me see beauty in the world when it is easy to forget & it makes me feel proud to be able to make amazing craft works for myself & to show friends & family they are loved. Not sure how long it will take me to realize it really, but step by step.
ReplyDeleteLoved your scripture BOM very much.
I don´t want to win, but I stil want to answer your question. Right now I enjoy redwork. You can just go on stitching without thinking about colour changes. And the reason I don´t want to win is that I already have your beautiful pattern and the matching quilt.

Congratulations Jenny! I like stitching your little roses. I'm stitching Shabby Roses now and I'm enjoying that. I would like to win your new pattern because it's so cute!
ReplyDeleteSaule
Congrats, Jenny! What a wonderful feeling having 2000 folks following your lovely blog. It's because it's so lovely that you have so many followers and I know it will grow. Besides the wonderful patterns that you so freely share with us all, people come here because of your honesty. For me, these could be things, I would like to sometimes brush under the carpet!! Thank you for making me look at things differently!.....
ReplyDeleteI just love stitching. It really relaxes me and as my mind focuses of the pattern and colours of threads, my everyday stresses just seem to float out of the window.... a very closed window, mind you, coz I tend to stitch, late night, in my PJ's in front of the tele!!
Thank you for the chance of winning your fab pattern.
Hugs, Sue from Cyprus x x x
Congratulations on 2000 followers! That is just unbelievable!. Just love your work and your patterns they are joyful. There is so much to enjoy about stitching, but most of all I think it's the calm relaxing effect it has especially after a long difficult day at work and second the fact that it is so portable and can go anywhere (from children's sporting events and practices to doctor offices - always carry my embroidery projects as one never knows when you might have an extra minute or two!) Thank you for the give away offer. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations...that is quite a milestone in blogland! I enjoy stitching gifts but sometimes they are for me! The finished piece always feels like such an accomplishment. I love stitching because it is so calming.
ReplyDeleteI love stitching things for gifts - be they small sayings, quilt blocks or mug rugs, because I love the ability to invest a "chunk" of time in prepping the stitchery, then being able to stitch in "stolen moments" when I would otherwise being a couch potato ;0}
ReplyDeleteI love stitching because it relaxes me and then when I am done I feel great about what I created. It brings me such a sense of peacefulness.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you , I love to design and
ReplyDeletestitch mostly Stitchery for the contented feelings it gives me , the pure pleasure of making something for others to enjoy.
Congrats with all your followers but your blog is amazing so I understand :-)
ReplyDeleteI embroider everything my heart makes a jump all the things I love.
Why do I love sewing? I have absolutely no clue! It might have something to do with reading about a "virtuous woman" in Proverbs when I was very young and thought:That is something I can do. Congratulations. I hope I was number 2000 :D
ReplyDeleteMariana
Congratulations on 2000 followers!
ReplyDeleteI love all kinds of needlework but especially when it's for someone I love.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! :) I love your cross-stitching... I've just started playing a bit here & there, but I hope one day to be (close) to how good you are!! :) Hoping my number here in Canada gets chosen!! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I enjoy working on small pieces that are portable. I then include them with some patchwork to make wall hangings or tablecloths. I find hand stitching very relaxing.
ReplyDeleteJanet

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 2000 followers! Fantastic! I love stitching - it keeps my hands busy, it is relaxing, and there is a magic to it. It is like magic to see how the stitching comes together as you get each little part completed. And you can easily listen to you favorite movie or television program. "What do you most enjoy stitching, and why?"
ReplyDeleteI love the relaxing aspect. I tend to be high strung so any chance to sit and relax while keeping the hands busy is so very enjoyable.
Wow, 2000 followers!
ReplyDeleteI most enjoy stitching cross stitch patterns, I think, because I can also do that when I'm tired. don't ask me why, but that is how it works for me.

ReplyDeletecongratulations 2000 !!!
ReplyDeleteI like to do stitcheries on evenings watching tV.
Greeting Guilitta
I used to do a lot of cross stitching and still love that art but with carpal tunnel and arthritis in both wrists I find it difficult. I found you one day and other sites that are into "regular" embroidery and started doing it again because of you and I love this type. I also do machine embroidery and love that process as well. Thanks so much for all you do and I am not surprised that you have 2000 followers. You encourage others by your sharing and your designs are also encouraging. Thank you so many times over for sharing your gifts with us!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Jenny,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful feeling to know so many people are interested in what one does...Stitching to me isn't, I guess, what I'm stitching but who I'm stitching with..the people you meet, whether it be friends, bloggers or a stranger you chat with in your hunt for that perfect piece of fabric. Crafters are always warm and friendly people and I love being associated with them.
Stitching time is my prayer time. I love to pick up a project I am doing for someone and pray blessings on them and their family and any needs I know they have.
ReplyDeleteJenny friend, I love your blog and I am so thankful for all your followers!
Congratulations on passing 2000! What a achievement- I not even have a blog. What do I most enjoy stitching? Dragons and fairies, anything fantasy or cute designs for babies, why? because they make me feel happy and hopefully will make others feel that way too.
ReplyDeleteMarj in Mexico
thelady(at)hotmail(dot)com
WOW Jenny, Congratulations! JUst think, 2000 people from all around the world have found their way to your wonderful blog and designs. IMagine!!!
ReplyDeleteI love to stitch everything, but my favorite are quilt blocks. THere is just something so delightful in a quilt or quilted wall hanging with stitchery included. I love stitching in the evenings when I have to sit in my recliner and rest for the evening. I feel lost without something in my hands to work on. I'm so blessed to be able to do the simple embroidery stitches required for most projects after losing most of the feeling in my fingertips and palms. IT is so true that when God closes one door, He opens another. YOu have but to walk through it to find the blessings He has in store for you. BIg Hugs sweet friend....
Congratulations on 2000 followers, Jenny. You deserve your success. I enjoy hand piecing and hand quilting as it's so relaxing and the resulting texture is so soft and cuddly in a quilt.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and congratulations on your follower milestone.
ReplyDeleteI particularly like to stitch small gifts for friends and family. I'm thinking of something like the little cross-stitch I made for my sister which she always kept at her bedside. Seeing it there meant the world to me.
Hello Jenny, also in Belgium you have followers :) I love stitcheries and patching. Congrats on your 2000 followers.
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing such a beautifull things with us!! I like your stitchery very much, because I have time to spend some time with our havenly father during stitching. I can pray, I can sing, I can listen ... Thank you very much :)
God blessed you with a creative mind.
Warm greetings,
Henny
I enjoy stitching, because it is soothing, lets me escape from family life for awhile, and at the end I've created something I love. Usually.
ReplyDeleteFor all around relaxation and enjoyment, I would say hand embroidery is my current favorite pasttime. Congrats on 2000 Jenny!!
ReplyDeletecongratulations on your 2000th follower, what a great achievement.I am a passionate embroiderer, have embroidered for a long time. Particularly like shabby chic.Love to do stitcheries with patchwork.Hugs Shirley
ReplyDeleteWow 2,000 what a lot you have got and over 100 comments so far to read through. What I most love about stitching is being able to teach others how to stitch when they thought they couldn't I teach a class of adults with learning difficulties and one of my ladies today went home with a patchwork bag sewn on the sewing machine. It has taken her 3 weeks to make this bag and had never used a sewing machine before. She was so chuffed she was beaming from ear to ear. So I suppose it is the sharing I like most. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour Blog just like your designs is amazing, so little wonder you have so many followers
ReplyDeleteI enjoy stitching After a couple of very hard sad years in my lfe I find it is a wonderful way to sit and relax and take my mind to a better place Hugs

ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jenny, 2000 followers is really very much. You ask why I embroider?
ReplyDeleteIt gives my mind rest, it helps me to relax.
Greetings, Anita
Congratulations, 2000 followers that's great. Must admit I go through withdrawals if I don't do some hand stitchery each day. I love seeing the stitcheries come to life whether I just do redwork or add lots of colours. lyn.robyn.smith@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteWOW that is so amazing congratulations Jenny. My first love in craft is stitching since I was first taught in grade 5 and we made a sampler of all stitches. It was so much fun and I have been hooked on it since. I am always attracted to a project when I see it has a stitchery design. I am really enjoying stitching the blocks on "A Christmas Story" which I am doing monthly from your emag....
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny:
ReplyDeleteI love all stitching, but red work is the best!!!
Carleen
I love all stitching as it a stress reliever for me....but my favorite is embroidery. My Mother taight me when I was about 6 years old---about 56 years ago. So I have been doing it for quite awhile and I have never tired of it!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised you have so many followers of your delightful blog :-) These days, I like to stitch small projects rather than the larger ones I used to do. Sadly I realise that so many of the 'fancy' stitches I learned as a child at school I haven't used for ages and you know what they say, 'use it or lose it!'
ReplyDeleteI love to do little stitcheries. When someone in oursenior area is sick or in hospital, I make a small stitchery for him or her to enjoy. Redwork is my favorite, although, shabby flowers are right after that. Thanks so much for the giveaway!!! I can't wait to get this pattern! Congrats to you for your many followers. Sharon Lozano
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 2000, a fabulous accomplishment! Stitching is relaxing, so I love it all.
ReplyDeleteKathleen
Fantastic on your 2000 followers Jenny. I love doing embroidery as its as pretty as you want to make it. It is easily taken where ever you go. It is very relaxing to do as my hubby watches his shows on TV. Not my cuppa tea but we are sitting together and that is very important. It has many uses when it is finished. Thankyou for the opportunity to have a say. Hugs Lynette Bramman

ReplyDeleteMy sewing machine is a great gift because my hands have a hard time keeping a needle - are learning maskinquiltning - it is a big challenge.
ReplyDeleteI love to sew stitchery although my arthritis makes it a great challenge - your month blocks, "Thoughts in Thread" is my current project.
Thanks for the free pattern.
Just like you, I love embroidery. I then used to make quilts. I read your blog regularly, I find your work inspiring and it helps me to learn English as my mother language is French.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jenny, a fantastic milestone. I like simple stitchery, it is relaxing, the best meditation that I know. Well done on your mini quilt, it is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jenny, for your generous shares. I most enjoy doing "sentiments" for framing and displaying, so that my three grandchildren will have heirlooms to bring back memories of their grandparent's home.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the sharing of stitchery and am always looking for something to give to firends and family that is personal. I also love stitching because it is portable....take it to work, in the car, at the doctors....you know how it is...find a minue of too to stitch every day! And be excited if you can get in more!
ReplyDeleteStitching is relaxing, yet allows one to feel productive. A total contrast to the pressures of my job. I do love your work and have shared your website at the craft retreats I attend as well as print out your blog and patterns for my Menninite nieces who have used some in their quilts! Thank you.

ReplyDeleteWoW Jenny that is awesome! 2,000 followers. :D
ReplyDeleteI love stitcheries but right now I am enjoying making some hexie flowers as I don't need to concentrate as much, particularly when I am watching telly with hubs. :D
I enjoy stitching flowers and that's probably because I don't have a green thumb... can't grow them and keep them alive. So the next best thing is to stitch them. I love flowers, and stitching them lets me enjoy them all year.
ReplyDeleteI love to cross stitch or embroider items for church use, as well as gifts for friends and family. You have been an inspiration to learn more embroidery and improve my technique since I am so new to this. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 2000 followers. Job well done!

I've mostly been stitching on my Halloween quilt and Snowbound quilt. It adds such a nice touch to everything. I plan on starting Betsy Closet soon, If I can find where I put it, the fabrics, and floss....now what did I do with it????.....getting old is sometimes not fun....smile.
ReplyDeleteI guess I must enjoy stitching a gift the most as almost everything I stitch, I give away. I like thinking about the person when I am stitching and imagining the joy when they open something that I made just for them. It's a real high!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved crossstitching but have recently learned to embroider. I am a quilter and I love the quilting part of quilting the most. So putting both stitching and quilting together with my new embroidery endeavor has just been a dream come true.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy stitching projects to give to others, especially quilts. Thank you for the chance to win.

Congrats. I love sewing small projects- the quick satisfaction of accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny
ReplyDeleteI stitch for family and friends to give them something that I know they will cherish. I choose my projects based on their preferences. For me, stitching is a way I can demonstrate my love for the recipient. Whatever I stitch, whenever I stitch, I feel a calmness that all is right in the world. The feel of thread between my fingers, the rhythmic movement of the needle going up and down, in and out gliding through the material. Seeing, from a piece of blank material my work slowly come to life, bit by bit, colour by colour. The desire to make the reverse of the design look nice and neat so that it does not detract from the beauty of the actual design. And finally, the joy of giving something beautiful to another person.
Congratulations on so many followers. I love to stitch and have enjoyed it since my Aunt Becky taught me a few stitches at the age of 13. I enjoy it most when I find a design that is just right to make for a gift for someone special.
ReplyDeleteI love stitching things that are fun and colourful. Journey of a Quilter has been one of my favourites. I am stitching it with 4 of my favourite friends. Stitching fills your heart with warmth and lifts you up when you are down! It is a lifesaver at times!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway - gorgeous!
I love stitching beautiful little embellishments on clothes for my little ones.
ReplyDeleteI have started smocking. I am getting there, very, very, slowly.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely site,
Helen S.
I enjoy stitching because it is relaxing and portable. I can take it with me anywhere and even if it's only a few stitches while waiting for the doctor it makes me feel calm and at peace with myself.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a big milestone! 2000 followers! Your new pattern is gorgeous, from what I can see, hehe. Can't wait to see it all. I enjoy stitching from embroidery, cross stitch and hand sewing. I've been doing embroidery on blocks that will be quilts, Winter Twitterings (?) and Gardner's Alphabet. I enjoy making something with my hands, the peace it brings me and all the friends I've met because of it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for an awesome giveaway and a chance to win. Three winners! How generous! Woot! Woot!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jenny - 2000 is quite an impressive milestone. I personally love stitching for the people I love which means I try my hand at lots of things to suit the recipient. Sometimes stretching myself to things outside my comfort zone because I know the recipient will love it more that way. My favourite stitching is hand embroidery. At the moment I am working on my first red work and my first paper piecing hexis for Christmas gifts.
ReplyDeletecongratulations Jenny
ReplyDeleteI love stitching I always have something in my purse too just in case I find it so relaxing and comforting

Congratulation, Jenny :-).
ReplyDeleteRight now I am in the mood for Christmas stuff, when stitching.
At the moment I prefer to make smaller projects like mug rugs, small bags, pincushions etc.
Greetings from Denmark,
Anne-Mette
Sewing is a time when I can not only be creative, but put my whole self into something. I can leave the world behind for a few hours, watch a movie while I sew if I want or just listen to music - Christmas music right now!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny,
ReplyDeleteI love to stitch everything and anything, it is so relaxing. The best part is when you give a finished project to a special person and watch the joy in their face, that is a wonderful feeling. Hubby has dibbs on the Promises & Borders quilt because of the beautiful verses you have chosen, thanks for sharing. Bobbie
Congratulations! You have earned it for your wonderful work and kind heart! My favorite thing to stitch is anything small that I can do by hand and finish quickly.
