New dress: New designs...

With my 55th birthday looming in a little over two weeks I've decided to embrace a few changes.

There are a couple of big ones on my list which I'll gradually share with you as my birthday month progresses and the changes have moved from idea to a reality, but today you get to see the first exciting change - a total overhaul of my blog!

Do you like my new logo and header?

I'd be rather chuffed if you decided to add this to your blog sidebar with a link back here.

The design for the new Jenny of Elefantz logo has been a closely guarded secret, even at my house! Over the past couple of weeks I've been working on a completely new set of designs for 2014, and though I can't show them all to you yet, I will show you a little sneak peek of one.

You know I love stitching my shabby roses, right? And after Daisy Days I think you got an idea my heart had a soft spot for them too?
Well, it just seemed right to bring my floral loves together and so, blessed by the Lord's hand in mine, I birthed ten sweet 'rosedaisy designs'...

Can't wait to show you the rest, but as I'm still stitching them we'll both have to wait for the finished projects.

Each year I like to buy myself something small, but special, for my birthday as a 'gift to self'.
Recently I discovered an artist whose talent left me breathless - Michelle Palmer
Michelle draws with ink on fabric, and I can only sit in awe and wonder as she regularly adds new works of art to her Etsy shop. Choosing which pieces I wanted to own was incredibly difficult, but I eventually decided on these two, which arrived in the mail yesterday, all the way from the USA...

It's Blossom's birthday in May so I purchased one for her too. They are exquisite, and the perfect size for embellishing a little door hanger, journal, lavender sachet, or any precious little gift made with fabric.
Mine is the little bunny drawing at the bottom.

Take some time to look over Michelle's work HERE and HERE
You can't help but be inspired.

I have some tidying up to do now as my friend Heather is dropping by for a coffee this afternoon and I can't wait to see her. I missed our sewing day on Monday with a nasty migraine, and I'm definitely overdue for my Heather fix!

have a glorious day,
be inspired,
and inspire others.

hugs

  10. Oh my, I discovered you yesterday, and after today, you have me hooked forever. Love your new logo, love your designs, your teasers for what is to come, and those adorable bunnies (going off to check those out now). My sister is a HUGE daisy fan, and I'm thinking of using your patterns to create a quilt for her with blocks of your embroidery incorporated. Her 53rd birthday is next January, so I should have plenty of time to get it done (right??) Thanks for inspiring ME!

It's always nice to receive feedback on a blog post, so *thank you* for taking time to comment!
I will try to reply via email unless you are a 'no reply blogger' which means you'll have to check for my reply in the comments. Of course, life is a rather hazardous activity, isn't it? So if I don't respond to your comment that's the reason why - life simply stepped in...
hugs
