Each month or two I try to share with you a free design that is inspired by my love of Scripture, but the project I'm sharing this time is inspired by the words of a lovely old hymn instead - "His Eye is on the Sparrow".
Do you know it?
The block can be stitched up quite fast if you have an afternoon to spare.
Mine has been framed, but you may like to display yours in a different setting...
I designed this whilst on cyclone watch a couple of weeks ago. Though the cyclone passed south with minimal impact, I still pondered with awe the power of God, and His gentle grace that has carried my heart through many 'storms' in life. Indeed, His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches over me...
You can download the design HERE until December 31st, 2014.

This is just fabulous, thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteJenny - I have just recently gotten in to embroidery and I LOVE your blog. I'm doing my first red work, but I want to continue to do other projects. I'm also a quilter, so I think the two things go hand in hand. Hugs!!
ReplyDeleteI just love this! And yes, I know the verse well...one of my favorites. Thank you for sharing. I'm a stitcher and designer, but mostly cross stitch. I'm learning other embroidery techniques and fiber arts...finally. So glad I found your blog!
ReplyDeleteI love cross stitch, Stacey - wish I had more time so I could get back to it.

ReplyDeleteNow I just have to learn all the stitches to be able to make this beautiful pattern. I'm following along on your stitching lessons. Though I'm not totally new at it; I have never known some of these intricate stitches. Thank you for all of your time and willingness to share. The song - "Brighten the corner where you are.." comes to mind when I think of you. You probably don't realize how you brighten the days of others.
Sigi, {{thank you}} - that's one of the loveliest things anyone has ever said to me. I'm so humbled that you would think such a thing. xxxxx

ReplyDeleteOh, I came to check on a good day. =) I did unsubscribe and resubscribe, but I still don't get e-mails. =P I'm going to try signing up with a friend's e-mail and see if that works.
ReplyDeleteWow! How beautiful! I think we might have a "God-thing" happening here. This whole past week I've been in the ER and hospital with my 82-year-old aunt, watching as she slips into dementia with no apparent physical cause. One of her favorite songs, which she sang every time she put in her hearing aids to check their volume, was this comforting hymn. Thanks for sharing this lovely pattern. When I finally have time to do some handwork, I hope to make this, maybe for her enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteI know and love many of the old hymns. That one is definitely a favorite and not too long ago I remember singing it to myself as I was working around the house. Thank you so much for the pattern.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely pattern, thank you
