Monogram Mondays ~ A ~

Welcome to the first Monday, and the first letter, in my
Monogram Mondays!

Every Monday for the next 26 weeks I will be sharing a letter from my newest Shabby Roses Alphabet.
Originally I had decided the share the letters I used in last year's Shabby Roses Alphabet Runner (featured in Issue 11 of Elefantz HOME e-zine), but you know me...I have to play around with things to improve them, so I spent most of last night, and a few hours this morning re-drawing a prettier version for you...

I also decided to present the monograms in a simple sampler for framing when it's finished, so your first week also has the full header in case you'd like to stitch the sampler with me.
Normally I stitch on white handkerchief linen, but I thought a spotty background would be nice for a change.
The main threads in my sampler are Cottage Garden 'Vintage Rose' and 'Oregano', with Anchor Grey 399 for the wording in the header and the outline of the letters.
So today, let us begin with...

You can download A, with the header, HERE.
Feel free to share the news about Monogram Mondays, just be sure to link back to Elefantz, ok? :-)

Will you use the monograms on anything special, or are you going to stitch the sampler?

  1. Thanks Jenny for the first of the alphabet, I have even managed to download it to save for the future, not sure if I will do the whole sampler or just pop in to use the ones I want.

  3. Thanks for sharing this! So nice!

I think I want to do the sampler and love the dotted fabric...might do that too. I'll have to see what I have. The threads are going to be the challenge...because I have only dmc. Can you help with nos. so I can try & get close to the right colors?

  14. Is there supposed to be a big empty space on the bottom? Or, is there supposed to be a pattern there? Is that space saved? I see the letter A in the upper right hand corner, but I feel like something is missing...am I wrong?

  21. For those that cannot download....you have to sign in with Google before the pdf will show up. It took me awhile to figure it out, but that's what I had to do.
Also, there are several conversion charts online for using different brands of embroidery thread.
Thanks again Jenny....you're such a generous soul and we all appreciate you and your sharing of your talents.

  34. Thanks so much, Jenny! For now, I'm going to collect them, because my initials are all in the middle of the alphabet. I love the sampler, though, and I think I might stitch it once my current projects are finished. I love the letters! Either the old ones or the new ones.

It's always nice to receive feedback on a blog post, so *thank you* for taking time to comment!
I will try to reply via email unless you are a 'no reply blogger' which means you'll have to check for my reply in the comments. Of course, life is a rather hazardous activity, isn't it? So if I don't respond to your comment that's the reason why - life simply stepped in...
