The free BOM begins!

Happy New Year everyone!
It's a hot and humid summer morning in North Queensland, Australia, as we greet the first day of 2015.
As the air conditioner will be controlling the atmosphere in my home today I think a bit of stitching will be the perfect pastime - with numerous glasses of ice cold ginger beer to quench my thirst.

Are you ready for some fresh stitching to bring in the New Year?

"The Vintage Kitchen" - a free 9 month Block of the Month...

"The Vintage Kitchen" will run from January to September, 2015, and I'll be sharing one free block on the 1st of each month.

January's block celebrates baking because as a child in the very early 60's my most vivid memories are of being in the kitchen every day with Nana as she baked for our little threesome - her, Pop, and I.
I think of baking as an act of love, service, blessing and delight...

The blocks will stitch up quickly each month as they all finish inside a 3" square!
You can download the 1st month's free block HERE.

I've also put together the material and cutting requirements for you to make the wall quilt in case you'd like to gather your supplies now. The file is HERE for you to download.
The completed wall quilt measures 13.5 inches x 21.5 inches.

KITS  SOLD OUT!
I also have a limited number of kits for "The Vintage Kitchen", but due to exorbitant overseas postage rates they are only available to Australian purchasers.

The only difference between my original quilt and the kit is the red/white spot fabric. The spots are smaller in the kit fabric, but I actually think it's nicer than my larger red/white spot border.

The kits are HERE and include the fabrics for the quilt top, stitchery background, the binding, the backing, and a skein of thread.

Spread the word about this free BOM as I think it will be loads of fun and we always want to share the fun with our friends, right?

Do you like my new blog header for 2015?
I have a new elephant.
Her name is M'Lady.
The flowers scattered around her are called M'Lady's Roses.

In month 4 of the Stitchery Club my theme is "The Garden" and to celebrate the arrival of M'Lady I've included a stitchery of her...

Also inside January 17th's 6-pattern Stitchery Club mail out are these sweeties....

...plus a couple of bonus minis!

Want to find out how to join the monthly Stitchery Club?
It's easy!
The full set of PDF patterns are emailed to all subscribers on the 17th of each month.

In my next blog post we'll begin A Year of Gentle Domesticity.
If you'd like to stitch the pattern for this year long journey back to the heart of the home it's HERE in the shop...

I'm going to make mine into a project this weekend, just not decided yet what it will become.
Any ideas?

Hugs

  5. I hope to stitch along on the Vintage Kitchen! Love it! We are really cold here in Michigan. My daughters man friend is visiting her here from Australia. He is excited to see the snow, and hoping we get enough before he has to fly home to go sledding and snowmobiling.

  15. Thank you Jenny. I too have many happy memories baking with my mum & especially my Aunty. My cousins & I should of driven Aunty to distraction trying to help & then argue over beaters, spoons & bowls to lick but she loved every minute of it. I have done very little stitchery in 2014 but you have tempted me back again. xx

The fabric is Michael Miller's "Home Ec" and even though it is a 2009 print, it's still available from www.fabric.com in the USA. :-)

  36. I found you from Scrapbox Quilts Friday Quilt Hop. I am a quilter, but I love embroidery. I'm excited to start your frugal kitchen! Even though I swore I wouldn't add one more BOM to my list this year!

Do you have a button I could show on my blog? I can see your cute button, but no code.

I look forward to joining your world and seeing all the wonderfulness you create!

  37. What a wonderfully neat BOM. I'm not one for embroidery but you have my attention with this, it's so cute. I added your BOM to my website http://www.quiltalong.net/ which lists quilt alongs, BOMs and link parties from around the Internet. Cheers!

It's always nice to receive feedback on a blog post, so *thank you* for taking time to comment!
I will try to reply via email unless you are a 'no reply blogger' which means you'll have to check for my reply in the comments. Of course, life is a rather hazardous activity, isn't it? So if I don't respond to your comment that's the reason why - life simply stepped in...
hugs
