Happy New Year everyone!
It's a hot and humid summer morning in North Queensland, Australia, as we greet the first day of 2015.
As the air conditioner will be controlling the atmosphere in my home today I think a bit of stitching will be the perfect pastime - with numerous glasses of ice cold ginger beer to quench my thirst.

"The Vintage Kitchen" - a free 9 month Block of the Month...
"The Vintage Kitchen" will run from January to September, 2015, and I'll be sharing one free block on the 1st of each month.
January's block celebrates baking because as a child in the very early 60's my most vivid memories are of being in the kitchen every day with Nana as she baked for our little threesome - her, Pop, and I.
I think of baking as an act of love, service, blessing and delight...
The blocks will stitch up quickly each month as they all finish inside a 3" square!

I've also put together the material and cutting requirements for you to make the wall quilt in case you'd like to gather your supplies now. The file is HERE for you to download.
The completed wall quilt measures 13.5 inches x 21.5 inches.

I have a new elephant.
Her name is M'Lady.
The flowers scattered around her are called M'Lady's Roses.
In month 4 of the Stitchery Club my theme is "The Garden" and to celebrate the arrival of M'Lady I've included a stitchery of her...

I hope to stitch along on the Vintage Kitchen! Love it! We are really cold here in Michigan. My daughters man friend is visiting her here from Australia. He is excited to see the snow, and hoping we get enough before he has to fly home to go sledding and snowmobiling.

Thank you Jenny. I too have many happy memories baking with my mum & especially my Aunty. My cousins & I should of driven Aunty to distraction trying to help & then argue over beaters, spoons & bowls to lick but she loved every minute of it. I have done very little stitchery in 2014 but you have tempted me back again. xx

ReplyDeleteThe fabric is Michael Miller's "Home Ec" and even though it is a 2009 print, it's still available from www.fabric.com in the USA. :-)
