Building a stitchery (and a little competition)...

I'm working on one of the new August designs for The Stitchery Club.

It began with green...

....and moved on to a pop of rusty red.

Tomorrow I'll introduce another hue, maybe a softer rusty tone.

I'm glad to have plenty of August designs to stitch. Blossom is having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions so things are on the move and I need my mind and hands to be occupied while we wait for 'that' call.

How about we have some fun while I wait?

Blossom's having a baby girl.
What name do you think she and her DB have chosen for their soon to arrive daughter? If anyone guesses correctly I'll send you some fabric and thread after she's born and her name has been confirmed, okay?
(you can only leave one name in your comment)

hugs

  10. Here, people often use a grandparent's name as a middle name. I'm thinking maybe Erin Jennifer ___. I love the stitchery! Jenny, I do not ever see how you come up with so much beauty in your stitcheries. You have a style, but every one seems different and fresh, and so, so lovely. I am going to really enjoy stitching this one, maybe on a pillow cover. Here's hoping the call comes right on time. =)

  12. Good Morning Jenny! I enjoy the sneak peeks that you give us on the projects you are creating. Your hand embroidery stitches and designs always bring smiles and happy thoughts. I hope that your stitching helps to calm you as Blossom and the Grandbaby are beginning the journey.

I am going to go with Esther because this precious life has been strong and a fighter from the beginning. Her life is going to make a huge difference!

    Have a fantastic creative day!

  17. I really don't have a clue. I could say Jennifer after her grandmother. But since she is Blossom, maybe she will name her Flower. Others have already said, Angel(a), Faith, Rose, Lily. Along the flower line for names I was thinking Violet or Petunia. A young woman in my church called her daughter Nevaeh. Another lady called her first daughter Hypatia. One of my sister-in-laws called her first daughter Sharon and the last two, Blessing and Majesty.

  38. Loving this sweet Stitchery. I cannot guess a name for Blossom's Baby Girl because names are so very special and personal. When I gave birth to my one and only daughter I chose her name and everyone around me kept telling me how awful it was and how everyone would call her Jenny...like a mule or donkey. I stayed strong and she has never ever been called Jenny. I named her Jenifer Michelle and I still love her name and her even as she turns 49 this August 7th. Blessings to Blossom and Baby and you Jenny Dear...

  51. Hi Jenny, I didn't enter the name competition, names kept coming to mind and just thought of Ruby, excited to hear when baby arrives and hear of the beautiful name given her, wonder if anyone will have guessed it, though so many to choose from often comes down to just a chosen few, for us just the one for both girl and boy (that we both liked), (think our daughter shares same name as one of your daughter's spelt differently, with y in place of an e) Almost missed out on our boy's name as hubby's cousin had a son just prior to our daughter's arrival (lucky we had a girl first) and cousin chose same boy's name but when our own son arrived it was still our chosen name so went with it and it has only caused a problem with same surname once when both boys were attending Tafe many years ago. Fun special times ahead for you all. Wish for both yourself and Blossom back to good health by then. Hugs, Judithann :-)

  52. The cyber demon ate the first part of my post! I like all of the names that have been suggested. Several of them are names of various family members! I'm partial to the name Julia as that was my mother's name so will go with that for your new granddaughter's name. It could be either Jennifer Julia or Julia Jennifer actually. I like them both! She could be JJ for a nickname.

I read in your previous post that you were up in the mountains where it was very cold and rainy. Could you please box some of that up and send it to Texas LOL We are forecast for 103F today and being in semi-arid West Texas it's almost a Chicken Little experience when water falls from the sky LOL

May God grant you a blessed day!

Can't wait to see what name Blossom has chosen. My pick is Esther, a lovely Bible name, since this little girl will the the Queen of her household! God bless you and your beautiful family. ----Valerie

It's always nice to receive feedback on a blog post, so *thank you* for taking time to comment!
I will try to reply via email unless you are a 'no reply blogger' which means you'll have to check for my reply in the comments. Of course, life is a rather hazardous activity, isn't it? So if I don't respond to your comment that's the reason why - life simply stepped in...
