Peace and quiet...

I'm afraid I've been rather quiet of late and that's due to a health setback with my heart and those constant migraines (both related it seems) so I'm just popping in to let you know that I'm fine, just very tired and needing to do things slowly.

One of the things that settles me during these need-to-go-slow times is hand quilting so the other day I pulled out a UFO I'd begun a couple of years ago using some sweet pink and green embroideries I'd designed back in 2016...

As the front of what will become a cushion was already completed I only needed to baste some cotton quilt wadding behind it and decide what thread to use for the hand quilting.

It was so relaxing to sit and let my needle work it's way up and down through the fabric for an afternoon...

I wish there were more UFOs in my cupboard to hand quilt though. Do you ever have a hankering just to do the same thing over and over for a season? My hankering right now is to hand quilt so I'll have a good look through my many completed stitcheries tomorrow and perhaps be inspired to turn a few more into projects. Cushions will probably appear because I'm in need of a few new ones, but I'd also like to make some runners for our side tables in the living room.

Whilst I'm stepping back and resting up know that you're in my prayers for I'm sure many of you have your own challenges to walk through. How easy it is to pray throughout the day as we go about our routines, assured that even though we may not know a name or a particular circumstance, God knows, and when I pray for my dear blog readers there is confidence that He hears and acts to be your blessing, your provider, your help in times of trouble.

And He is also there to celebrate with you, so if you have high times right now I pray the Father shows His delight to you as well.

I'll leave you with some photos of the flowers around and inside the house at the moment; beautiful God-crafted blooms of colour which bring me immense joy...

                                    Loving hugs,

Praying for your health dear heart. Hand quilting always brings me peace, from my very first quilt - as does hand embroidery without a deadline. The simple act of moving the needle is very soothing! Your flowers are just gorgeous and that is very soothing to look at as well. Be well, be blessed my precious friend....

I hope & pray that your health issues & those migraines improve real soon dear Jenny. Your hand quilting is just gorgeous - yes I often feel just like sitting knitting dishcloths - its soothing & rhythmic & I can do it without thinking about it. Hence my dishcloth pile is growing. Your flowers are soothing to the soul - so pretty. Take care dear girl xxx

I'm sorry to hear there are issues, but happy you found a good quiet activity that makes you happy. Yes, I like to do the same thing over and over for quite a while and then find another thing to do over and over for a while. =) I hope the rest helps both the migraines and your heart. I find that the beta blockers they put me on make me really tired. I feel like I never have any energy any more! Enjoy the slow stitching of those cushions and table toppers. You deserve the break to take time to do something lovely while you also take care of your health.

It certainly seems to be a different time than what I have seen before for myself. It seems I also may have some things ahead I never expected either. I pray you be strengthen and recover soon with this health issue. God works. We don't always see it as He does it. But He is always turning for our good what the enemy means for evil. We will see things in a new perspective. Be well, Jenny.

These days are filled with uncertainty, and even when we walk with Jesus we get to feeling worn down. Rest dear lady, and know we lift you up to our Great Physician, and ask for your protection as you spread His light to others. I appreciate your prayers as well, reading those words were a great encouragement to me today! Thank you for that, rest well and enjoy the hand stitching.

I wish you weren't dealing with setbacks--I know that can be discouraging. And yet, it's so like you to find the peace in the moment with hand quilting. I have many items that I look back on now and think, "Oh, yes--I worked on that when my mom was in the hospital", or, "I stitched that during that long winter...", and there is a tenderness to my association with the stitchery that I don't feel about other things I've made.

Such pretty flowers. I'll pray for you to have better health. Hopefully the coming of spring to your part of the world will help you to feel better. I am in the USA and dread the cold and dreariness of fall and winter. But with help from the Lord, I'll get through it. May many blessings come your way for you and your family.
