Flood Appeal Update, and how you can help.

If you haven't already been over to see how you can help we Gum Tree Designers with our 'New Beginnings' appeal, please visit HERE and read how you can help.

We are asking if you can make up a sewing kit to be distributed to a quilter/sewer who has lost their all in the floods. Included we would like :
1. A handmade sewing caddy, complete with needlebook and pincushion.
2. A pack of embroidery scissors with a scissor keep.
3. Six individual skeins of stranded embroidery threads.
4. Embroidery needles.
5. 1 fat quarter of fabric.

If you can help, please email Jenny at -
 jennyofelefantz AT yahoo DOT com DOT au
OR
purpleflowerpatch AT gmail DOT com
for the address in Australia to post these kits to.

PLEASE post by the first week of February.
~~~~~
If you cannot make up a kit, perhaps you can help with a donation to help cover the postage costs of the distribution? There are two ways to help.
You can choose to donate any amount you like,  directly through Paypal on our Gum Tree Designers website HERE, or -
in the US we have Ruth kindly running our fundraising. We have offered 8 patterns to choose from and you can choose whichever one you like for a $5.50 Paypal donation.
Visit Ruth's website HERE to help in this way.
Any funds left from postage will be donated directly to the Queensland Government Flood Appeal.
~~~~~

 Bidding on my two quilts can be seen in the top right of my sidebar.
Tonight Shabby Roses has a high bid of $180, and A Christmas Story is at $200.
Please consider making a bid! All proceeds will go directly to the Queensland Government Flood Appeal.
The highest bidder of each quilt will be required to make the donation to the appeal themselves, and send me a copy of the reciept. Once I have received it I will post off the quilts.
I am joining my auction in with Toni's Flood Appeal Auctions (HERE)....
...and the auction will now run till midnight January 24th.

THANK YOU to everyone who has signed on for the 'New Beginnings' Appeal!
You are all wonderful and will be making a tangible difference to a shattered life.

Hugs
Jenny

Hi, Jenny, Well, the Gum Tree Girls have done it again, and I am so proud of you all. The auctions are so great, the sewing caddie idea such a brainstorm, and all your hearts are in the right place. Thank you for sharing Ruth's site with us. I was waiting for word on how I could donate. It didn't seem logical to send a caddie overseas. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this catastrophe. ~karen

Jenny, I am going to try to do this. It might take me a short while to get it done. I blogged about it today and linked back to you:

Is there anything else I can send along with it? Toiletries, etc? I did my student teaching outside of Melbourne, so I'd like to try to help where I can. Thanks!
