In my cocoon...

Blossom wanted to write a blog post the other day and ask you to pray for me, but I told her no...said 'I'll be fine real soon'.
It's days later and I'm not real fine yet. I am on day ten of a pretty bad migraine.

I've been hiding away like this guy who decided to build a cocoon in our garden at the weekend...

I just want to hide and heal in the quiet and the dark, holding tight to Jesus' hand.
Mr E has looked after me like the prince of husbands that he is, and today Blossom will take me to our doctor for some better pain relief. I am blessed with my dear family to care for me.

Until I can function again I will be resting up and being quiet on the blog, but I would truly appreciate your prayers for healing, and wisdom for my doctor (just in case this is something more than a rampant migraine)...

Much love and big hugs

Dear Jenny,
I am so sorry about such a long migraine. My Mum has had migraines 70 years, I have for 45, my daughter has since she was eight. Recently she was so bad, like you, that she saw a neurologist. He has sent her to an acupuncturist. We are only in to the second week of treatment but she feels she like it and will give it a decent go. I will let you know what we think. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Also he suggested preventative medication... I don't know if you have tried anything. However one visit to the neurologist was worth more than about ten years of trying to get help form the GP. I thought I would tell you this.
I hope you are feeling much better. Love and prayers, Annabel.xxx

I'll say a prayer. Terry suffers from migraines too. 10 days is a long time to suffer. His neurologist and a pain management doc have really helped him to find the cause and help get them under a semblance of control.
Best wishes to fee better.
xx, Carol

Hi Jenny,
My prayers go out to you. I too know what you're going through. I started getting migraines at forty years of age and suffered almost every single day for fourteen years. A few years ago I found a young woman's blog and she recommended the book,"Heal Your Headache: The 123 Program by David Buchholz, M.D.. I live in the USA so I went to Barnes & Noble book store (do you have them there) that evening and bought the book. It changed my life. I always knew food could play a role but never changed my eating habits and was busy cooking for my family. I can't say enough about this book. I am sure you can find it on Amazon. I live migraine free today unless I eat something I shouldn't, which is pretty much never. #1 rule is no caffeine, ever. I can't have MSG (of course there are many names that MSG is hidden behind), Sodium Nitrates or Nitrites, no chocolate, no bananas, no soy sauce(it makes it's own MSG), I only buy one brand of broth for soups the others contain MSG, no white, red or yellow onions. I can eat Spring green onions and use those for cooking, etc. I also can't have citrus, just in a very, very small amount. It may be that your body is very sensitive to chemicals and foods. I wish you the best Jenny and I hope you will purchase this book when you feel better. I was on migraine preventative meds., Excedrin Migraine medicine over the counter, nothing really helped. The prescription med eased the pain but made me terribly sick to my stomach. The only shots I received were non-narcotic and they didn't help.I spent almost every day in a dark room on my bed. It is a terrible way to live your life. Take care and I will keep you in my prayers Jenny.

I only know how bad migraines can be because my daughter suffers from them. A couple months ago she was on some medication that actually made her feel worse than the migraines made her feel! It took her a long time to wean herself off them too. Keep that in mind. I hope your doctor can give you some relief. Prayers for your good health to return.

Oh, sweet Jenny, I'm so very sad to hear that your suffering this way. I understand some of what you are going through. Today is the first day in 3 days that I have left my bed due to the worst migraine I have had in several years...I can't imagine 10 days and counting. I'm hoping that you have a room in your house where you can make it dark even during the day. The blackout curtains in my room were purchased specifically to battle migraines when I was struggling with several a month, but praise our dear Lord, they only hit me a couple of times a year now. But never in my life did I struggle for more than 5 days. You and yours are always in my prayers but I'm fervently praying for God's loving comfort and healing for you. May God Bless and Keep Always, Nancy Jo
