When I was thinking about what the next Give Thanks verse would be; the thing I was most thankful for at that moment - it was having my husband home with me again.
The last couple of months, with him away working so much of the time, I would feel a great loss when he rode away. Yet, when he rode in the gate 5 days later my heart would leap and I was more excited than ever!
So the next verse?
I am Giving Thanks....
...for homecomings.
Remember the song, "Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree.."?
The meaning of the homecoming in that song is different to mine and Mr E's, but the yellow ribbon has certainly become symbolic with the return home of a loved one, so my sketch included one for this tree.
Hope you like it, and have someone to stitch it for - yourself perhaps?
You can download Verse 11, "for homecomings" HERE.
Have you ever tied a yellow ribbon around a tree to welcome someone home?

Next week I'm going to share the 12th and final verse of my Give Thanks BOM for 2011.
All the verses, and the hanger pattern, are listed free for download on the lefthand sidebar. I'll keep them all up until January 1st, then off they go into history.
Hugs

Ever so sweet! Your designs are so beautiful as always Jenny.
I'm so glad to read of your dear husbands decision to be home with you every day. Your love for each other shines through your writing and is sadly so rare for a lot of people. It's so beautiful to read. Thank you again for sharing your heart. ♥♥♥
Hi Jenny! I just love your 'Homecoming' addition to the Give Thanks collection. I will be stitching one for myself and trying to do it quickly as one of the two grandson's we raised should be coming home for a Christmas visit soon. He went into the Air Force in May and I haven't seen him since. I'm so anxious to give him a hug, and even more, have him hug me...he gives the greatest, most sincere hugs, I can't wait. Thanks so much for this beautiful design. I understand how deep the theme of this one goes for you and I am so glad you have your hubby back home. Thank you also for the wonderful free 'Stocking Tree' design. You are so generous with you talent and I hope you know how appreciated and loved you are by so many of us that enjoy that generosity. OH...Sam's Goblin quilt is GREAT!!! I love Medieval storys, like "Lord of the Rings". Big Hugs n Love...
Love that sentiment Jenny. Thanks.
Oh, this one is so sweet.
I am sad that next time will be the last. I did have my daughter draw one up for December so I could send it to my sister. As soon as I finish it I will show you.
thanks for sharing all the little quilts with us.
Such a beautiful sentiment. Thank you for sharing.
Jenny I am SO enjoying your precious stitcheries and still can't believe you're sharing them with us for FREE! They are certainly a blessing...as are you! Thank you so much.

Thank you Jenny. It is lovely and I can feel the smile in your words again.
Dearest Jenny, you brought back some lovely memories with that song. When I started singing it to my kids, one of them said "oh mum, that's ancient!!". Anyway, i still remember the male singer with that 'tache!! Heck that's going back abit!! So happy that hubby is back :).
