I've only had to wait 10 weeks, so it's rather nice to share my own *J* monogram today.
And of course, I wanted something pink, rosey, round and sweet....after all, J is for Jenny this Monday.
When I'd finished stitching J in my Sampler...
...I hunted down some lovely Ed Mar 'Lola' rayon threads from a project I made years ago.
These threads are very fiddly to work with, and are normally used with Brazilian embroidery (of which I sadly have no talent for!), but the sheen on them - oh, it's sublime.
Armed with these threads, the tiniest little wooden hoop, a scrap of linen, and some pink organza ribbon, I had a project to sew!
Can you see how these threads almost glisten?
After I stitched J, I took the outer circle off the little wooden hoop and wrapped it with the pink organza ribbon, securing the end with a dab of hot glue at the back.
Next, I stretched the J over the inner section of the wooden hoop before inserting it back in place.
Cute? yes, but it needed something more.
A small length of the prettiest gingham I own (from Brenda Riddles's Durham Anew 2012 collection) was made into a raw edged bow and hot glued slightly off centre. Now, it's truly a *J* I heart!
You can download the pattern for 'J' HERE.
Have you been stitching the monograms?
What have you made with them?
Hugs
Jenny

Hi Jenny
I am enjoying the monograms! I have not tried any yet as I have made a promise to myself to finish several UFOs before starting anything new...sound familiar?? It is becoming more and more difficult....lol..
Hoi Jenny, lovely letter J and I love the way you used it, bur I am still waiting for the L! Well two weeks more!
Have a great day, hugs
Lida
love what you have done with your own personal J
My last name begins with "J" and, of course I have many family members too, so I can see some ideas for future gifts. Thanks so much!
Sweet as can be. Love the sheen of the floss.
LOVE THE "J" and what you've done with it. Thanks for sharing

Thanks so much for all your letters. I must admit I haven't started yet and am still thinking of what I want to do with them. BUT, since I have a husband, son, daughter-in-law and a new granddaughter (3 weeks today and first grandbaby for me) that all have names that start with J I feel I should start with this one. Actually my son and daughter-in-law are thinking of having just a J family anyway so I can find lots of uses for this letter.
That's adorable! I can hardly wait until next week. I've been waiting for K so I could use it on a round robin CQ block. I've held it up two months. LOL
