Some weekends are full of things to do, and others tend to be laid back and totally relaxing.
Mine was the laid back kind.
Blossom came to visit on Saturday and was pretty excited when I told her I'd bake spelt scones for morning tea. They are her favourite...
She enjoyed them with lashings of blueberry jam and cream, taking the leftovers home with her for Sunday breakfast...
Saturday night I settled down on the bed to rest my leg, watch "Steel Magnolias", and sew the binding down on my newest quilt design...
This quilt will be featured in the new issue of my e-zine, due to be published later this month.
I think you'll love it, but no more peeks until Friday's blog post and newsletter...
On Sunday Mr E took me away on another photo adventure, and after a little afternoon nap I sat down to plan how I will use this bundle of vintage cross stitch fabrics and doilies that a wonderful friend, Miche'le in New Zealand sent me...
A couple of the doilies had transfers on them ready to stitch, and I think I will do them 'as is'...there's something rather sweet about finishing a project prepared by someone you'll never know.
Sunday dinner was a simple affair of muesli, cranberries, and coconut chia pudding (I have this in place of yoghurt or milk)...
...followed by a pot of tea and some spearmint leaves Mr E had surprised me with.
If I could parcel up my lovely weekend and send it to you as a gift, I would. xx
Block 6 of The Lord's Prayer is ready for you to download today here in the shop!
Sounds like a wonderful weekend to me. Love the backing on your new quilt.

POifect honey, just poifect ! xox
Yummy food and great stitching.
Glad you are resting your leg. And what better way than to watch Steel Magnolias! So many wonderful characters in that story!!
Looking forward to seeing your finished quilt. :) xxxx
Your weekend sounds wonderful Jenny, perfect combination, great for your leg healing and after your lovely stitching friends outing, loved the pics. Your NZ gift reminded me wishing for more opportunity to check out op shops etc when there on holiday after seeing so many great linen finds. I made a trip to the Quilt and craft show for a few hours visit, 3 hrs travel by public transport but enjoyed just wish had more time, its been many years between visits so a little overwhelming, so much to take in in one short visit but worth it. Happy creating, Judithann :-)
ooh darlin' love the backing on that quilt! Glad you had a lovely weekend dear friend!
Sounds like a blissful weekend Jenny! Those scones look totally scrumplitious (as my sone would say:)
What yummy stitchery goodies to receive. So many goodies given away from yesteryear that are just waiting to be found and loved again. I know you will enjoy all of those. What a lovely weekend you have had. And thank you for the next installment of The Lords Prayer series.
Thank you Jenny. Sounds like a perfect weekend to me! Ours was great too - away with friends to celebrate birthdays, shame it rained yesterday but it meant I could spend the afternoon chatting and sewing with friends. xx
Sounds like a great way to spend the weekend. Looks like you have another beautiful quilt to show soon. The sneak peek shows off some fun fabrics. Thank you for part 6.
