What a big weekend!

Well, Mr E would tell you it was big.
On Saturday he took me shopping for a surprise. To buy one of these...

...and one of these!
You see he sold his CBR 1100 sports bike last week (we still have the big red ST1300 that we both ride!), and wanted to use some of the proceeds on a new bed and mattress for the two of us.
In about three weeks our sleigh bed and King Koil mattress will arrive and we expect satisfyingly comfortable sleeps to follow. Isn't he wonderful?
It's hard work buying your wife a new bed, you know...he had a rest while the paperwork is being done...
...thought I may as well too. I lay back in the recliner while Brett, the salesman, worked out the 30% discount...
Once home again, we headed to the local pool with Blossom. We've begun swimming laps for exercise...
Saturday night we had an easy dinner and then settled in for a game of Talisman. We hadn't played in about two years, so some re-reading of the rules was needed, but all in all it was a great night!

In between all of this I was still writing my magazine, so breaking away to do fun things was wonderful!
Sunday we hung around at home to watch this guy (Go Casey!!!) win his 6th in a row Australian Moto GP race at Phillip Island...
Sunday night we all went out for pizzas and coffee by the beach, then home for a movie.
I even managed to finish another face washer!

My friend Fee, of Fee's Shabby Shack, is starting up a few clubs and one of them is the "Gift of the Month" club.
Every month members receive a pattern and kit to make a brand new design by various designers. Her first month of the club has a new design of mine as the project!
"Shabby Roses Decorative Pillowcase"

To sign up for her Gift of the Month club, or to purchase the pattern, visit her website HERE.
She posts internationally too, so everyone can join in!

A lot of people emailed and left comments asking me to share the recipe for my Blueberry & Lemon Shortcake. You will find it on my Recipes page, HERE.

Now tell me, what did you get up to this weekend??

Ahhh a new bed! We need a new one something fierce!! and a new sofa and a new dinette set! Hubby had all of the furniture forever before we married! One piece at a time.. What goes first??? lol

We finished bailing our tobacco for the year this weekend and it feels good to have the crop to market (with the exception of one last load) and now we will wait out the storms and rains from the hurricane. Go away Sandy... Noone wants you here in the US!

Looks a lot like my weekend... our softside waterbed mattress sprung a leak so we decided after 18 years it was time for a new mattress. Had NO idea there would be so many to choose from!
