Revealing "Sweet Tweet"!

The postie arrived yesterday with the latest issue of Australian Homespun magazine...

...and guess what's on page 88?

My "Sweet Tweet" quilt design!
I made this quilt about 9 months ago as the magazine world needs these projects competed and in their offices at least six months before publishing but now I can finally show you because the secrecy is over!

I've also shared my top 5 tips for a sewing a good back-stitch, and there's a little Q&A about my journey along this designing road...

The magazine is in newsagents around Australia now, or you can purchase it from anywhere in the world as a digital download HERE on Zinio!

If you make 'Sweet Tweet' be sure to send me a photo via email.
It's just 36" square and those pretty little applique and embroidered birds are surrounded by simple block piecing and delightful Flower Sugar fabrics ...

Local long-arm quilter, Marcia Harper, custom quilted "Sweet Tweet" for me and brought all my handwork to life, like the icing on a cake!

Thanks to my precious husband who always supports and encourages me, I get to play with designs for a living. How blessed am I?
I think he deserves a good rich Vienna Coffee, and maybe later I'll paint my toenails to match the quilt...that's my kind of celebration!

Have a wonderful weekend,
hugs

Well done! (I wish you could hear me saying that as there is a lot more emphasis than just the printed word.)
You colour combination, as always, is just perfect. And, yes, you did have a great quilter for the finishing touch.

Hi Jenny,
My word for this year is productivity. So when I saw your year of gentile domesticity, I decided to ride along. I'm getting my materials together for the Lord's prayer. But just wanted to share a quilt I made after getting inspired by your churn dash tutorials. I have never made this block before.
It's for my great niece Arijana, who was born in Oct 2014.
Thank you for your inspiration.

What a sweet, sweet quilt! I love every inch of it! I know that one of our quilt shops carries a few Australian magazines. I'm going to go find out if yours is there. Woo-hoo! Another captivating quilt.

Jenny, I just love your Sweet Tweet Quilt - and your back stitching is divine! Something for me to aim for! I am wondering if I could get your permission to make this quilt to sell? At this stage only one, but I think people who don't sew would love to have one of their own! I would of course acknowledge you as the designer.
Kind regards, Anne
