SWEET TWEET pattern is ready for you...

It's been four months since my "Sweet Tweet" quilt was featured in Australian Homespun magazine and now the pattern is ready and waiting in my shop for those who were unable to find the magazine but would love to stitch their own version of "Sweet Tweet"!

At 36 inches square the quilt is perfect for a baby or toddler, but is equally delightful hung on a wall or over your knees as a lap quilt...

It actually sews up rather fast as the blocks are mainly applique with a little backstitch, running stitch and a few cross-stitches...

...and the patchwork sections are only squares with a few straight borders! Not difficult at all. I like simple, don't you?
It's a very happy quilt and sure to put a smile on the face of whoever you make it for - or maybe it will be yours and your own heart will be overflowing with warm and fuzzies?

The fabrics I used were from various Lecien "Flower Sugar" prints and they definitely added to the sweetness, but mostly I think the birds are the star of this quilt, don't you?

You can get your pdf copy of the "Sweet Tweet" pattern HERE in my shop today!

happy stitching,

Revealing "Sweet Tweet"!

The postie arrived yesterday with the latest issue of Australian Homespun magazine...

...and guess what's on page 88?

My "Sweet Tweet" quilt design!
I made this quilt about 9 months ago as the magazine world needs these projects competed and in their offices at least six months before publishing but now I can finally show you because the secrecy is over!

I've also shared my top 5 tips for a sewing a good back-stitch, and there's a little Q&A about my journey along this designing road...

The magazine is in newsagents around Australia now, or you can purchase it from anywhere in the world as a digital download HERE on Zinio!

If you make 'Sweet Tweet' be sure to send me a photo via email.
It's just 36" square and those pretty little applique and embroidered birds are surrounded by simple block piecing and delightful Flower Sugar fabrics ...

Local long-arm quilter, Marcia Harper, custom quilted "Sweet Tweet" for me and brought all my handwork to life, like the icing on a cake!

Thanks to my precious husband who always supports and encourages me, I get to play with designs for a living. How blessed am I?
I think he deserves a good rich Vienna Coffee, and maybe later I'll paint my toenails to match the quilt...that's my kind of celebration!

Have a wonderful weekend,
hugs
