Thoughts and ideas (project seven)...

Do you have a mind that is constantly dreaming up ideas but more often than not forget them by the next day?

This is not a new problem for me, in fact way back in 2011 I got so frustrated by all the thoughts and ideas that floated in and out of my mind during the day and even through the night that I made a very simple but well loved journal cover and matching bookmark to keep them fresh and remembered.

I used scraps of my favourite (at the time) Tanya Whelan fabric and some pink RicRac braid for the cover and the same fabric for the bookmark but with the addition of a pretty tassel.

That was nine years ago and recently it was time to begin a new "Thoughts & Ideas" journal so all I had to do was remove the old one from the cover and insert a fresh one.

I'm a list maker, a note taker, a quote keeper, a Scripture ponderer, a planner and an ideas scribbler so that's what ended up inside the old journal and will fill the pages of a new one.

The free 'mental space' I have at home now has given me more project plans than ever - stitchery designs, garden layouts, recipe tweaks, bible study topics, house redecorating, health makeovers...and so much more. So if this is happening to me, maybe you've also found your mind bubbling over with random and interesting thoughts and ideas as well?

Why not raid your favourite fabric scraps and make a journal cover and bookmark for keeping track of all those things you'd like to do, learn, study, make, bake, plant and sew?

Use the link below to download my free pattern!

This is the seventh free project I've shared in Creative Hands At Home over the past eighteen days to fulfil my desire to help you be creative in your homes during this time of enforced home isolation - and I really do hope that some of them inspired you, not specifically to make the patterns you've seen here on the blog but to look at what you have on hand and think creatively about how to use those fabrics or notions to brighten your home environment.

It's Mothers Day in Australia on Sunday so I want to wish all of you lovely mums out there a very blessed and joyous day.
Sweet Blossom and her little ones came by this morning and we celebrated Mothers Day a little early with gorgeous flowers, coffee, cake, a favourite movie to watch with Rafaella and Cully May, a good play outside with the chickens and much fun tramping around Poppy's garden.

The girls arrived all rugged up because it's a novelty here to wear fleecy jackets, but they soon had them off and were running around outside in t-shirts. But they look so cute, don't they!

I'm pleased to say next week will see a return to my regular Homemakers Heart posts, so until then, God bless you so very much!

Loving hugs

Hi Jenny,
That's why I keep pen and paper in the night stand...when those great ideas come at 3 am !
Thanks for a great weekend project!
Looking forward to seeing what Mr E made in the garden. Is it just as impressive as when I saw the cement mixer - compost mixer system. Loved that idea!
enjoy the weekend!
hugs,
Joanne

Happy Mother's Day dear Jenny. I think I am going to make up this idea for my daughter and myself. I know I won't manage it by Mother's day but it will make a nice just because gift for her. My son surprised me today with an early Mother's day gift when the FedEx man dropped off a package labeled cut flowers. He had sent me a beautiful Mother's day bouquet. Now it is back to the yard. Only four days until my back surgery and I still have so much to do! Have a wonderful day.

Happy Mother's Day for tomorrow, Jenny and to Blossom too. Yes, wearing winter clothes up there would be a rare occurrence I would think. We are having cool nights and warm days here in the South East.

I have notebooks everywhere - use them constantly, but they're not as pretty as yours! Love the picture of the girls all snuggled up in their fleecies. We're still using ours here, four layers are a constant, lol. But by next week we'll be 80F, yay!!!! Happy Mother's Day dear heart!

A belated Happy Mother’s Day' , I’m so glad your day was filled with love and making memories! I love the gardens, they are such a labor of love and they are paying off nicely! It’s quite warm here in Texas no need for fleece coats except maybe on some nights. Thank you for all you do for all of us!!!
And the inspiration you bring to all of us too!

Jenny Those little girls' smiles are great. You are so lucky. Question for you ...On May 11 I got an email from Bluprint that there had been an important update to a pattern in my library ........Joy in the Ordinary by Jenny of Elefantz. There was a download button to click on. When I tried to download the update it opened to my library but the pattern wasn't in it. I went to my personal "in the cloud" file I created to store all of "Jenny's" patterns I've saved and I found it but when I tried to open it a message that "no file was found" appeared. Have you deleted this pattern? I also got a notice on Prayer Circle but that pattern is still in my Jenny file. Thanks for any info.

The pattern was updated and should be right there in your Blueprint saves. But they have changed so many things I don't really know what is happening. Next month I shall just cancel the Blueprint shop completely.
