SIMPLE DAYS block of the month - its time to begin...

“Simple Days’ is a 9-part block of the month.

Each block is made up of three stitcheries, some simple patchwork and pieced borders.

Each of the nine blocks measures 14.5” square before being sewn together as a quilt.

The final assembly and border instructions will be included with block nine.

The completed quilt (with a final border and binding) will measure 46” square.

In a way this is a mystery BOM because you’ll only get to see the next month’s block when I send it to you, but be assured they are all lovely with three new stitchery/applique designs in each 14.5” block.

All the stitcheries in Simple Days were created to feature aspects of a simple life well lived and as there are 27 little designs scattered through the quilt you have the added option of using them individually in a variety of ways for smaller projects.

Sketching and stitching Simple Days has quite truly been the happiest experience of my twelve year designing adventure because there's a piece of me in every little scene, the best bits I think.

SIMPLE DAYS is a subscription block of the month which begins on January 25th 2021 and finishes with the ninth block and quilt assembly instructions on September 25th 2021.

The monthly patterns are in PDF format and emailed to all "Simple Days" BOM subscribers on the 25th day of the month (January - September).

Each pattern includes detailed embroidery, applique and piecing instructions and I have included graphs to help with the block layout and final patchwork piecing.

The materials required, threads and cutting instructions are included with the first block but I will also send them to you within 24 hours of receiving your membership details from Paypal.

This is a great scrappy project if you're stuck at home and need to shop from your stash, or splurge on a fat quarter bundle that takes your fancy. I've used fabrics with very small prints (Heartstrings by Natalie Bird for Devonstone Fabrics) because in order to let the embroideries shine as they should this style of fabric is best.

PLEASE BE AWARE: I'm only having one sign up for Simple Days and that closes on January 24th.

Each month's three-part block is $8.95 AUD (around $7 US) and you can use the link below to join in.

SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

IMPORTANT: Please make sure your Paypal email address is up to date as that is the email address I will use to send your patterns each month. If you'd like me to send them to a different email please contact me (here) and I am happy to do that for you.

For those who'd rather not join Simple Days as a subscribed BOM member I will be adding each month's pattern as it is released between January and September to my Etsy Shop for $11.95 AUD.

Block 1 (below) will be sent to all Simple Days members on January 25th via email.

I'd love for you to join me in this 'straight from the homemakers heart' quilt project!

Now to explain about changes to my plans for The Homemakers Heart magazine.

My original plan was to include Simple Days in the new digital magazine as it was to be a paid monthly subscription.

But...you know how God steps in and has a better idea?

Well, He did. And what He put on my heart was to separate the two. Of course I need to earn an income from my work, and Simple Days will be that over the course of the next nine months, but The Homemakers Heart magazine will be a free gift from me to you this year, a gift of encouragement from one homemaker to another with projects for your home, articles about all sorts of topics, recipes and many, many other things. I can't wait to share the first issue with you...just a few more days and it will be ready!

Please pray for the magazine and for me as I write, design and compile everything to bless you. Just as the Simple Days project came straight from my heart so this magazine is an extension of my love for homemaking and a desire to encourage other women to elevate that most important role within their home by no longer imagining it to be 'less than' or 'drudgery' but a high honour and incredible privilege.

God bless you heaps,
