My wreath is made....

My wreath is made and I love it!
It's very *Jenny* with the white polka dots on red fabric...

...plus a vintage button, crocheted flowers, and a sweet stitchery I did about three years ago that has been patiently waiting for it's moment to shine!

It only took me a couple of hours...

...to cut the fabric, wrap and glue it, gather some pretty red, white and aqua trims, and to turn the little stitchery into a circular mini quilt to hang in the centre.

I'm also thrilled that everything I used for my wreath came from my stash!

* red polka dot fabric is RJR's 'Crazy for Dots and Stripes' (2009)
* crocheted flowers are from The Haby Goddess HERE
* Christmas Dove stitchery design is a free one from Bird Brain Designs HERE.

I used little pearl headed pins to secure the crochet flowers around the wreath, and one of my treasured vintage buttons for the centre flower. The red ribbon used to hang the dove stitchery was once wrapped around a gift I was given, and the aqua spot binding around the stitchery was also waiting in my scrap box for a moment to shine.
I even used a fancy stitch on my sewing machine around the binding! (now that's something new for me)

I guess now that my playtime is over I'd best get back to work.
I only have two weeks to finish the next Elefantz Home e-zine.
Oops...how time flies when I'm having fun.

hugs
jenny

Your wreath is just lovely. Perfect for your warm weather Christmas. I certainly know how you feel. Even though I'm in the Northern Hemisphere, Florida U.S, still has a warm Christmas. The really cold for us doesn't come till January. I could pick your wreath out of a line up and say it's you, but that's a good thing. You have your artist "brand". Love reading your blog and seeing your work.

Oh Jenny! This is so wonderful and adorable, I have never made a wreath but I think I will try one of these as I have fallen in love with it. If it works out well, I am going to try to make one for every season. It is tooo sweet to hang up only at Christmas time. My sis in law went through her stash as sent me two boxes of Christmas/Winter fabrics to choose from, so I think I can easily make one from my stash. Including those for the other seasons!!! Thank you so much for your tutorial. Big Hugs sweet friend...

Hi Jenny, The wreath is so nice and so fresh as a Christmas design. The little bird could carry a Happy Birthday sign in its mouth. there are many things that could be made with your design. You are very talented, Happy days ahead for you.
