Nana, look at the star!

Cully May wasn't old enough last year to experience the awe of Christmas, and the year before she was just a wee babe herself...but this year is different.

Last night while both her little girls were sleeping my dear Blossom decorated their tree in preparation for Christmas, and when her precious daughters awoke at dawn this morning there was only one thing they wanted to see.

Fascinated, they watched the twinkling lights of the dark tree glistening with gold and gasps of delight filled the room.

When hubby and I visited after breakfast dear Cully May met us at the door, and with the exuberance of a two year old who is so excited that her words tumble over one another, she breathlessly and insistently lead us inside to gaze in wonder at the most marvelous tree she has ever seen.

"Nana, look at the star! Look at the star, Nana!"

Lifted up into my arms we did indeed look at the sparkling golden star, and as I whispered into her ear "that's the Star of Wonder, Cully May" she smiled wide and hugged me tight.

Christmas is indeed a time of wonder, a day of glory given to the newborn King.
It is a time to rejoice with exceedingly great joy when we join together and celebrate the coming of the Christ Child, the most perfect gift given to man.

Just as my sweet 2 yo granddaughter stood in awe of that big golden star shining bright atop her tree, so let us bow in awe of the baby born in a manger under a far more radiant star over two thousand years ago. A baby who was and is God.
A baby who came to save the world and died in order that His purpose be fulfilled.

God bless you this Christmas tide,
hugs

Jenny and family.

How lovely, Jenny! I wish you could see my grandchildren as they are enjoying your city at the moment and had a wonderful time visiting the Stable on the Strand the last couple of nights. They arrived just in time to see it before it finished for the year. I am sure the bub would have been in awe of the lights just like your little ones. Have a wonderful Christmas and may 2019 bring you much joy as you follow the leading of the Lord.

Dear Jenny, The awe of a child is indeed a wonderful thing. When Emily's oldest was this age all she heard of was Santa Clause except at our house. We were her babysitter during that time as Jim had been laid off from his job of over 25 years. He was able to help me with an active two year old. I wondered at my daughter for not passing on the truths of the season but she was very hands off on her parenting at the time. Fast forward to last year when their youngest was 18 mo old. Things had changed since Rowen was born 11 years before. Now they have God as a welcome guest in there house. All three children are being taught of His ways and to revere Him. They are learning God's love. I have always had a childrens nativity down low for little ones to reinact the story to their hearts content. I found a very large one last year that I purchased for Rory Lou the youngest to have at her own house. She was enamored with it. When it came out this year it has become her exclusive past time. She walks the house with Baby Jesus cuddleing Him and singing to Him. What a glorious difference 11 years has made. Right before Emily got out the Christmas trappings they had been over to one of the childrens cousins for a party. They had their tree already up. Rory Lou spent the entire party sittting in front of the tree gazing up at it in wonder. She is only about 4 months older than your dear Cully May. When you put up posts of her I am usually tickled as the girls are so similar in age. Have a wonderful day sweet Jenny!

Merry Christmas to you and your family Jenny. One of my loveliest memories as a child would be waking the morning after we had collected the tree from the Christmas tree farm and my mum would have stayed up all night decorating. I don't enjoy decorating a tree so much so I now leave it to my hubby and kids. I like to see it all done.... bit selfish hey.... I love decorating the rest (although I don't do alot - or as much as I think I should with the super busy lead up to Christmas). Each year I think I will embrace it more and I never do. I really really should

Merry Christmas Dearest Jenny to you and your family. Children are so amazed at Christmas. It really is a magical season and even more so when we keep Christ in Christmas. Wish I could have seen her little eyes when she first spied that tree and star.....Nothing like children to put a smile on your face and love in your heart.

Amen, Jenny. Have a wonderful Christmas with your sweet girls. There is nothing like seeing Christmas with the eyes of a child, and remembering how often the Savior told us to be as little children. Merry Christmas!
