The Sour Dough Bread recipes....

As promised!

You can download the recipe PDF for both my sour dough breads (and the 'mother' recipe) from HERE.
I have also added my recipes for lentil patties and hummus because they are best served with my healthy version of the sour dough bread and are totally addictive - in fact I am going to make them myself tomorrow when I bake my own sour dough loaf!

Let me know if you make them, and how your sour dough worked out.
It took me time to get the hang of it and you may need to tweak it to suit your climate, your oven, even your flour choices...but it will be worth it! :-)

Hugs
Jenny

Thanks Jenny. I have been reading your blog for a while now and enjoying it. I don't think it will make a difference in these recipes but you might need to tell your US readers with future recipes that Aus cup measurements are different. We have been living in the US for 3 years (move back to Aus in December) and the cups are smaller. They are not metric here. The first time I made bread in our breadmaker it overflowed as I used an Aus cup measure. Now I have my Aus set and US set. Thanks again for a great blog.

Thanks for the recipes - the lentil patties and hummus are on my 'do do' list. Sour dough looks great but I will have to give that a miss because of the yeast.

I'd much rather just come to your house and let you cook, lol! I'll do the clean-up though, deal? I'm good at that part.

Thank you, Jenny, for the recipes. I bought my rye when I was out this morning. I have stopped buying bread. Only make my own now, but I have not done the sour dough yet. Looking forward to getting mother started. I'm living in the old west 49'er gold mining country now, so this will be a treat. --especially since the recipe is coming all the way from Australia via the 'net. How times have changed. I'm wondering...the second recipe with the yeast doesn't seem to mind being mixed in a metal bread machine and baked in a tin. Is it the yeast that makes the difference then?
While I was sitting under the scissors of my beautician this morning, a customer came in who was hailed as "being almost ready to take off on her BIG trip." Where? "It starts with an 'A' and it's not Asia." Well, she didn't look the type/age for an African safari. Sure enough...Australia is her destination. Lucky her!
