I guess you're wondering why I am sharing Monogram Monday on a Sunday?
Well, my dearly beloved Mr E has to go to Cairns for a few days with his job, and he's taking me with him! \o/
The photo above is the Cairns Marina at night, and our motel is right in the middle of it, overlooking the water.
We can take lovely moonlight strolls along the boardwalk after dinner, and while he is working each day I can stitch in the comfy surrounds of our motel apartment.
So, rather than share it late, I am sharing this weeks letter today.
~F~
My words for F are fun, friends, flowers, and faith.
What are yours?
My Sampler is coming along nicely...
...have you started one too?
After I stitched F, I thought I'd stitch one more to give you an idea on other ways to use the monograms...
With this one I chain stitched the roses with one strand of thread, and stem stitched the F outline.
Then I made it into a heart...
The heart will become a part of another project, but as I won't be home for a few days you'll have to wait until I return to see what it becomes. Mmm...maybe you have some ideas? I wonder if you're right?!
Before going away I usually try and empty the fridge of perishables. This morning I poached our remaining fresh plums in a vanilla syrup.
You will need ~
* 3 or 4 large plums
* One split vanilla bean
* 2 tablespoons fine sugar
* 2 tablespoons water
Bring the ingredients to the boil in a small saucepan, and immediately simmer with the lid on, for about 8-10 minutes.
I served ours over fresh buttermilk pancakes...
...with sweet cappuccinos on the side.
YUM!
Have a lovely week!
I'll have some sweet Christmas stitching to show you when I return. Little sneak peek...

One of the nicest trips I remember was going with my husband to Newark NJ and while he was at work I embroidered...away from home, away from work...so nice for me to have nothing to do except s-t-i-t-c-h !!!
Thanks for the "F". Hope you had a grand time in Cairns despite the rain. And the plums look yummy!!
