Yesterday was the first sewing day for the year with my buddies - Heather, Michelle, and Wendy. It's been about 6 weeks since we last got together and we needed our girlfriend fix pretty bad!
Heather was our host this time, and as always she spoiled us with love, hugs, laughter, and food - as well as something rather cute and special.
She made mice for Wendy, Michelle and I!
There's my little beauty in the middle. Isn't she adorable!? It was love at first sight. I was smitten with her and she was smitten with me.
It seemed 'just right' to have my new friend share everything about the day with me...
Who could resist those darling little whiskers and sparkling eyes?
After long consideration I finally decided on a name for her this morning.
Hermoine.
She looks like a Hermoine, she's faithful like a Hermoine, and her eyes lit up when I suggested it to her. She loves her name. We're content.
How very blessed we girls were to be given our very own mice. And to be so spoiled with sparkly drinks, Vietnamese salad, and 'death by chocolate' brownies...
(I got myself in the photo this time - see me hiding behind the camera?)
We didn't take pics of what we were stitching yesterday, but I did manage to grab these snaps of Wendy's completed quilt design. She's been working on this all year, and the final layout is beautiful! If you visit her blog HERE you can read about all the blocks she designed and stitched for her quilt, "A Year Full of Blooms"...
Only two more weeks until our next get together. Hope the time goes fast. The laughter endorphins are on overload when we're together but I think the effect runs out about day 13.
Friendship. It's a wonderful thing.
Tomorrow I'm sharing a very special, freshly stitched, free Elefantz design with you to celebrate the blessing of friends. Drop by, ok?
hugs
jenny

Such fun!!! I haven't got together with my quilting buddy for a month - over summer we get too busy - but we will be in two weeks time too. Yah!! Karen
Love her, definitely a Hermione! The lunch looked delicious, especially the salad!
Sounds like a very fun time! Those little mice are the cutest. I want to make one! Any chance your friend will share her pattern?
The pattern is a freebie from Helen at Bustle and Sew - http://bustleandsew.com/free-patterns/

Oh Jenny! I have so much fun reading about your "girls" get togethers. I remember the good times, laughter, food, occasionally tears, but mostly laughter, love and friendship ruled those days. I miss our sewing days soo badly. But my SIL, who always hosted them, insisting that we always gather at her house, but her hubby became ill and our group had to stop. So, sharing in yours is a true highlight in my days. Thanks so much for sharing them with us. And I have to tell you that your little buddy Hermoine is beyond cute, and her name is perfect. Big Hugs...
Jenny, thank you for sharing your Vitamin F days with us! Makes me long for my bee group in Florida...we met weekly at one lady's studio, go out for lunch and come back for more sewing. During my stays in Florida I looked forward to Thursdays the very most! Friendship is so very important to women and I miss them so much!!!!!
