In a world that keeps changing I sometimes get lost in what is acceptable and right 'today', as it can be quite different to what was right five, twenty, fifty, or two thousand years ago.
Society makes it's own mold by evolving an ever widening brand of right and wrong according to what the majority dictate as normal and acceptable.
The bottom line is that we try to get away with what we want to do and how we want to be in order to avoid adverse consequences or punishments. We want our way to be right.
A key change I've noted over the last couple of decades as a Christian, is the increasing number of fellow believers and denominations who have decided to delete much of God's Word from their vocabulary and lifestyle in order to embrace the views of those who do not know Jesus as Lord and Saviour - even though those beliefs clearly contradict Scripture. They make God small by making themselves of greater authority than His Word.
And I'm sure I've been just as guilty of this as they on many occasions.
With 2014 winding to a close and as the celebration of Jesus' birth draws nigh, will you join me in praying that in the year ahead we take to heart this Scripture and allow the Lord to awaken our spirit to Truth, that we cast off the beliefs which have steered us away from Him, and instead draw closer and closer to Jesus that our minds may be renewed and our vision cleared once more?
You see, it's us that changes, not Him.
I'm praying His unchanging Word is once again my standard for the years I have left in this earthy life, and I know beyond doubt that He will gently help me along the way...
God bless you,

Well said. Merry Christmas!
Wow, that is so like what I meant to say on Saturday's advent post! We are really aligned this weekend. =)
Jenny, for me, getting confused and off the straight and narrow, is when I neglect my daily devotions...Bible reading, devotions, prayer. The Lord doesn't change, He's the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He changes not.
This week, I'm going to do a blog post on the KJV Bible...shocking to me and I want others to know what I've found out.
Jenny, I can see why you posted that Scripture. Yes I agree that that Gods word is being either neglected or ignored. That is why it is so important to follow Paul's direction not to give up meeting together, & to listen to put into practice the Lesson given from Scripture at Church. I believe it is imperative to attend a group Bible Study as well, preferably not mixed. I attend our Ladies Group and we are a Know Your Bible Group, where we study a book of the Bible usually every term, so we cover 4 books each year, 2 O.T. & 2 N.T. The hardest thing for me is to continue on my own at home, as there isn't a lot of privacy in our small house. So I get up really early and study & pray until everyone gets up. Sometimes I get in two hours, sometimes half an hour, but the thing is I do it with God's will. It sets the tone for the day, and God blesses me mightily.
¡Feliz Navidad! Besos
Amen! I agree! May that be the prayer of all of our hearts in 2015.
God bless and keep you!

Amen! What a great reminder, & challenge. Thank you!! May your celebration of our Lord's birth be a very special time for you, & your family. Merry Christmas!
Dear Jenny,
Thank you for your lovely post and the Scripture. Today I was at breakfast with my husband in a local diner, and I couldn't help overhearing the following conversation at the table behind us from a young family and their grandparents;"little girl tells Grand dad"Monday is our winter concert at school, and I will be singing Granddad" He responds, "oh Emma, that is so nice, Which
Christmas song will you be singing?"
Mom says" "oh Dad, they do not allow any Christmas music at all, especially any Christmas carols, and they are calling it a Winter concert, NOT A Christmas or Holiday concert" Granddad was not happy..
So this is where we are now, No Christmas music at Christmas as it may offend someone.
I am so saddened and wonder if the pendulum will ever swing back. For the sake of us all I hope so. We need to pray for this,
I thought of the line from the Christmas carol Oh Holy Night that reads "The thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks, a new and glorious morn."
The weary world rejoices. I hope it does, all over the world and the hope in the baby Jesus this Christmas.
Christmas Blessings to you and you family and all your readers. maggie
