I wrote this a couple of years ago but recently the same lesson came to mind and I thought I'd share it again, a word in season for myself and maybe you too.
I'm often asked "How do you keep your stitches so tiny and
neat?", and my answer is quite simple.
I don't mind unpicking and re-stitching if the result before me is not
as pleasing as I'd like it to be.
Messy sewing usually comes about because of rushing from one project to
the next and not taking time and delight in one lovely piece of handwork at a
time, but daydreaming or dwelling too deeply on life's concerns may also be a
culprit.
My mind sometimes wanders when I have needle and thread employed
in the beauty of bringing a plain piece of linen to life with colour and
design, then when my thoughts pass and my eyes focus on the stitches before me
it's obvious this lapse of attentiveness will now result in some unpicking and
re-sewing.
And isn't that like life?
We can get so caught up in the rush that we forget to really 'look' at
what and who is in front of us.
We let the worries and concerns of life rob our peace of mind and the
result when we finally stop to examine our lives is a mess of neglect.
We spend so much time yearning and day dreaming about what we want that
we miss enjoying and tending what we already have.
We dwell on wrongs others have done and find that an ugly knot has
formed on the tapestry of our life and the picture we're creating lacks the
beauty we'd hoped for.
Is there anything in your life right now that needs unpicking?
Take the time to do it.
Re-stitching and mending with your whole heart reaps a blessed
reward.

Wise wonderful words.................kiwi hugsxx
A lovely analogy there. You always have such a wonderful way with words.
Jenny, do you know that poem about our life with God being like a Tapestry? IF not, I will write it for you. A lovely poem it is. regards Robyne S.A.
I love these thoughts and yes, sometimes we need to pick out the things that don't suit us! BTW, your stitches are the tiniest and prettiest and neatest of anyone I know!!!
Thank you. Timely for me as well.
Dear Jenny; Forgive me for taking so long to comment. With my Father not doing any better and a few other items of concern, I had not realized I was not receiving your emails.
It finally dawned on me and I went looking, they has someone been being sent to the Spam folder. After these couple of years of corresponding, how they ever ended up their is beyond me. Yet, I also discovered quite a few other regular emails were also being sent there. So, after fixing the correct area, I learned a great lesson of checking that Spam Folder a lot more often!
Your post today is wonderfully written and made me aware of important events that I am facing right now, that need to be dealt with only with my heart fully open to the Lord and remember that everyone in my immediate family is facing this same thing. So, I should not get angry and grow knots, just let them go for the Lord to handle. My Father is the one who needs ME and the LORD Now thank you Jenny! You are such a positive Christian who teaches the word of God everyday in so many ways! I Love You Sister In Christ Please Pray For Me and For My Father Brenda
No Robyne, I don't...would love for you to share it here. Thank you.
'sew' very true - thank you for bringing to the forefront of our minds
