A WONKY HOUSES encore...

In early 2009 I shared free on this blog my very first original design, a 4 part BOM called Wonky Houses.
I know there are some of you reading who remember this quirky design.
My Pop used to call anything slightly off centre a 'wonky', and I designed each house in this wall hanging in honour of him.

To this day, WONKY HOUSES holds a special place in my heart. It now lives with my daughter Kezzie, and I think I'm missing it so another one should be stitched for me don't you think? :-)

 If you love this design too, would you consider voting for it? You can place your vote HERE. I know it's silly, but I'd kinda like to win this for Pop. He was more than a grandfather to me because he raised me as his daughter, and I wasn't even his blood relation. When he married my nana she'd already had three children grown up so he never experienced raising his own offspring.
My mum died when I was three, so I was sent to live with Nana and Pop, and let me tell you that no child was loved more than I by my new 'parents'. Nana passed away in 1982, and Pop in '84 from a broken heart. He just didn't want to live another day without her.
So Pop, this one's for you.xxx
~~~~~~
You know, if I'm really going to honour my sweet Pop, then I think I should share WONKY HOUSES with you one more time.
Until Saturday the 4th August you can download for free the entire pattern for the four blocks and quilt assembly HERE.
The week is over, but the pattern can still be purchased HERE in my shop.
God bless each and every one of you!
Hugs
Jenny
Love your Wonky Houses and it is a pleasure to vote for them. I also wanted to thank you for a receipe that you posted awhile back.You made pancakes and topped them with bananas and sprinkled them with brown sugar.I made these for my grandson who doesn't like breakfast.I thought he MIGHT eat at least part of one. He did. In fact, he ate three! Now he ask for them. So, thank you for something that we can enjoy together.
Hi Jenny! Thank you so much for sharing both your wonderful memories and this special pattern with us! What a lovely way to honor the memory of your sweet 'Pop'. Can you imagine how many of these will soon be hanging in homes all around the world? Wow!!! Your 'Pop' will be grinning ear to ear, don't you think? Oh, I'm so excited that you entered this in the contest, it is a great entry and I have voted already. How I would love to see you win this one. As always keeping you and yours in my thoughts and prayers sweet friend.
** Speaking of friends...I was in a new Joann's today that opened just down the road from where I live and to my delight, they had three different Australian/NZ magazines in there. Imagine my surprise when I browsed through them and found your beautiful face smiling back at me in two of them!!! Well, I of course had to bring one home, so I got "Handmade" with two of your designs. I wanted to pick up all three but I was shopping with a small gift card that my grandson had given me for Christmas, and needed a few supplies so I had to choose... I knew there was a reason I had saved that gift card all these months, LOL. Big Hugs...
Jenny I will happily go and vote for you, in honor of your Grandpa, but also in honor of you and all you do for those of us out there who love your work. My mom was sick for a year and had been given "8 months to live" by the doctors. After 63 years of marriage my dad didn't want to live one day longer than her so two weeks before that 8 months was up he went on to Heaven, listening to "beautiful music" as he went. And when here time was up he returned to get her with her fussing like she did with him, "where have you been...I've had my stuff ready for days!" Sweet memories. blessings, marlene
What a gift you've given us! Thank you so much for the story and the pattern. I was once told that a person isn't truly gone as long as even one person thinks of them...guess your Pop and Nana are very far from gone so! What a lovely tribute you have given them!
