March Challenge Winner, 4 for 4 in April, and Tilda fabrics....

Thanks to everyone who made a charm square item for the March Challenge!
I gave all the entrants a number and Mr Random Generator was employed to choose the winning number - 6!
And number 6 was JOY from JoyPatch!!!
Congratulations sweetheart!!!
As soon as the Post Office opens after Easter I will have this lovely parcel on its way to you...
...some beautiful goodies from *that* shop!

Joy is a fellow Gum Tree Designer and made the prettiest Baseco Bag with her charms (from our fellow designer Dawn's pattern).
Dawn has raised $780 so far in her fundraising for the poor of Baseco, Manila, by selling patterns for this bag. If you haven't purchased a pattern yet, please consider it. Your $4 may be a cappuccino you forgo, but it will be so much more for the people of Baseco.
Purchase your pattern HERE from Dawn's blog for just $4 - there is a photo and link in her sidebar. :-)

 "4 for 4 in April!"
I'm not going to have an actual Challenge in April, but I am going to ask you to spend April finishing some UFOs with me. I thought we might aim for one UFO finish per week...will you join me?
4 UFOs completed in 4 weeks - now won't that be great!!?
I know some people are verrrrry good and do not accumulate UFOs, so perhaps if you are one of those you might consider offering to finish a friend's UFO for her? Friendship, UFOs and fun...sounds good to me. :-)
I have a few UFOs, but Blossom has many, so I am going to finish mine and help her with her pile.
There won't be a giveaway for this because clearing a UFO pile means we all win.
~~~~~
Whilst I cannot show you any more sneaks of my new designs just yet, I can show you these lovely 10" squares of Tilda fabric that arrived from France yesterday. I am going to play with some Tilda things over the April school break as a reward for all my own design hours.
This is the first time I have seen Tilda fabrics up close and they are prettier than you can imagine!
I have tried to track down a store in the US that sells Tilda yardage but no success, and there is only one I know of in Australia. If you know of a US store where I can purchase Tilda fabrics would you let me know please?
Back to my secret sewing...
God bless you all!
Hugs
Jenny
Congratulations to Joy!!!! I won't be finishing any UFO's this month - but I hope to finish some secrets, lol! Oh Jenny your Tilda fabric is SO beautiful, I can't wait to see what you make. I love her books.
lucky you, you'll have a ball :-)
I love Tilda fabrics too, but they are awfully expensive in Hungary at 5.000 HUF/meter, when I can buy proper patchwork fabrics for 1000-1500 HUF/meter, too. (and not "real" patchwork fabrics, but 'perfectly suitable for patchwork too' fabrics under 1000HUF...)
have a lovely holiday and do show us what you played with :-)
Hi! It was really fun to see what can come out of 5" squares, congratulations to the winner of the giveaway!
I do love Tilda too, and she is Norwegian, coming from the same part of Norway as I do (south-east). The Tilda fabric is expensive even here in Norway, but in Scandinavia they are quite easy to find in quilt-shops. Unfortenatly, I don't know of any quiltshops that are online that ships overseas.
Anyway, If you would let me, I have a couple of fat quarters in my stash that I would like to send to you! Just a little thank you for your wonderful blog and the patterns you make and share. I have been a follower for a long time, and your blog is my favorite:-)
If you send me an email I would be glad to send the fabrics:)
Hugs, Synnoeve.
Your challenge of completing four UFOs in four weeks is wonderful. I think so because I'm tackling Ten in '10 this year. Unfortunately, all my UFOs will take much longer to complete than one week!
Thanks for sharing about Tilly of Norway. I like what you've shown us, and like you, I was unable to find any US outlet for fabric. If she's THAT popular, I have no doubt that her stuff will be available here in the future.
Hi Jenny, I love Tilda and have all of her books I bought my daughter the latest one for christmas with some fabric and she made me a lovely round cushion from it. We have some Tilda fabric over here and I usually buy it at the big Quilt shows but it is a little pricey.
Love Jillxx
I have several of the Tilda books and hope to make something from them very soon. You can buy Tilde fabric in the UK but it's fiendishly expensive, so I'll be making mine with something similar. For the first time in my life I've actually got more than one project on the go, so I'll definitely join in with you and try to get them finished in April.
