Sneak peeks, and advent gifts!

This year I once again signed on for Fiona's 'Advent Swap', and my partner Carol has so far blessed me with these gorgeous gifts for days 1-7!
Silly me didn't take photos of the gifts I sent Carol (well, I have a large picture of all before they were wrapped but I can't show you because there are still surprises for Carol to open!) and Carol does not have a blog so I can't send you there to look - BUT, I am so blessed by Carol's thoughtfulness in choosing these gifts for me. :-)

Next year...it's not far away now!
What will you find coming from the Elefantz design room? Two new Shabby Roses quilts, a rose themed quilt for Homespun magazine, a free monthly BOM, and some children's designs that I intend making for my grandsons - Cal and Dee. :-)
I thought I'd give you a little sneek peek of one of the Shabby Roses quilts, ~Circles of Life~. You can see a peek of one of the blocks HERE, and another HERE, and I'll show you some more today...

I have also finished a quilt top for the August 2011 'Garden' issue of Homespun magazine. It still needs to be quilted and bound, but I'll get to that later in the week. Watch out for ~Juliet's Rose~ next year...

Blossom has been home sick all week with a nasty head cold. I made up some heart blocks for Shirley in NZ and together we stitched them while she recuperated.

These hearts are to be used for quilts that will be distributed with love among the families of the 29 miners who lost their lives last month in the Pike River mine tragedy.
One of the men who died was Josh Ufer, a local boy from our town here in Charters Towers (Queensland, Australia). I never met Josh but I know his Aunt Anna and it drives home the fragility of life to you when you see such grief etched on a family member's face and in their eyes. Josh was going to be a father next year so I chose baby prints for my heart blocks.
If you want to make blocks for this beautiful cause you can visit Shirley's blog HERE for details.
~~~~~
With that in mind, hold your loved ones close today and thank our loving Father for blessing you with their presence in your lives.
Hugs
Jenny
Lovely gifts from Carol! You'll have to show us what you sent her when she's opened them all. I'm really looking forward to seeing what's come out of your brilliant mind this coming year, Jenny. You have SUCH a gift!
I'm going to stitch my hearts for Shirley tomorrow, then send them off. What a tragedy for those families.
How can Blossom look so beautiful when she's sick....
I also made some hert blcoks = sent off 29 - one for each miner - (I might do some more next year - but just too busy right now) - its so devastating - and its worse when you know someone connected to it all.
