Well, it's official, 4 weeks from today we leave this southern coast and drive 7,000 klms to our new home in the far north tropics of Australia. So what have I been doing this week?
Organising tomorrow's garage sale, finding a new home for our dog, searching for last minute accommodation along the 9 day drive (right in the middle of school holidays!), emailing back and forth between furniture removalists, and just about everything else you need to plan with an across country relocation.
And I stitched. I had to. It was my sanity. :-)
I even designed some wonderful new stitcheries!
Here's a sneak peek of Country Roses, still waiting to be stitched...
....and Shabby Roses Christmas, all finished.
My sweet friend Fee (and her cherub Bella) blessed my socks off by posting me this HUGE pile of PINK (!!!) fabrics to take with me on the move - she knew all that pink would just thrill me, and it did! She knows me so well. :-)
Thanks Fee and Bella. I feel an apron session coming on....
I stitched my Dresden block into a cushion for Blossom. I did it while she was working at the Tea Rooms, and she was so surprised when she got home and found it sitting up on her bedside table waiting for her. Yes, she loves pink too. :-)
And here are some stitcheries some clever bloggers have made from my designs!
Allie won my Wonky Houses giveaway, and as a little extra gift I drew her a personalised Shabby Roses name block. I appliqued it with the fabric I'm using in the Shabby Roses BOM, and left it for her to stitch - she did such a beautiful job!!
I love the fabrics Kristina has used in this Wonky Houses wallhanging!! They frame the blocks so well!!
Terry does the prettiest colouring of blocks, and her block 4 is so sweet!! There is a whimsical aspect to it that I love.
And remember the Shabby Roses bookmark pattern I shared? This is Xioe's - don't you love it!? It's beautiful Xioe!
Has anyone else made one yet?
Tonight we're buying kebabs so I can have a night off cooking...
and then I'm going to stitch some more!
Have a wonderful weekend,
