After the birthday...

Hello lovely friends! Thank you for the heartfelt birthday wishes - you are such a delight and a blessing to me!
I have been continuing to wrestle with a migraine, and that has meant the need to stay away from the computer as much as possible. Today I feel much better - but I must take things slower over the next few days because more storms are brewing in the skies around us once more and these are what have triggered all the migraines during February.
My birthday was very quiet as I needed to sleep a lot, but my family understand that. My darling husband bought me a foot spa and all the associated creams and potions...
...and dear son Slicer bought me two pairs of leather sandals. Now my feet will look especially lovely after the pedicures and spas!
Blossom's gift came wrapped in brown paper - like a parcel...
....isn't that special!!
She knew that I loved my little milk jug and sugar bowl, both of which I bought separately last year at *that* shop, so can you guess what was inside the package?
 Now I have an exquisite set! Anyone for tea?
I also bought a special gift for myself. Ever since we moved here last July I have looked at this each time we walk through *that* shop...
...but I never bought it because it seemed a luxury. Last week however, the shop had a big sale, clearing all their floor stock for new arrivals later this month. I decided that if I was still oohing and aaahing over it 8 months after first setting eyes on it then now would be the time to make it mine. So I did, and it is.
~~~~~
I received more lovely fat 1/4s from my Birthday swap partners (thank you!!), as well as lovely stitched blocks from my darling Gum Tree Designers. I'll show some photos later this week when I am a bit more organised with the camera. Thank you also to those who sent e-cards, and those who posted cards...you have no idea how much that expression of care means to me. I know I do not talk often of sorrows, but birthdays carry sorrow for me as well as joy and your extended hands of friendship and care mean a great deal to me. {{{{thank you}}}}
~~~~~
Now - what have you been making? Let's take a look!
Here is a Binding Challenge entry for February from Illene ...
...and some baskets that Sheila made!
Gladys taught her step-daughter and friend to handstitch when they came to visit recently, and look how beautifully they have finished their first projects! They made Bible covers featuring my free TRUE LOVE design...
...and Jytte made a gorgeous wallhanging featuring three of the blocks from my Shabby Roses Quilt. Doesn't it look beautiful hanging in the snow...

~~~~~
I have to finish a secret Gum Tree Designer's project today...
As soon as it's finished I will do those tutorials I promised.
Blessings to you all,
Jenny
Hi Jenny, happy wishes for the year ahead. Your birthday certainly was celebrated with so much love it's just unfortunate that you were a touch below par. Oooo what goodies you received, presents to last a long long time.
Happy, happy birthday, dear! Hubby was so nice to give you the foot spa. Enjoy it! Have you tried rubbing Arnica gel or cream on your forehead/temples/back of neck/etc when you have a migraine?
Oh girl I'm glad you're starting to feel better - but do take it easy! Wow, foot spa and sandals, that was VERY thoughtful!!! And the gorgeous tea pot! I'm sure you and Blossom will have some lovely teas together. Jenny girl I love that box....it just screams your name, I don't know how you resisted it for so long.
Those are some fabulous projects you're showing, I really love the bible covers especially, your design is perfect for them. This is giving me ideas!!
What gorgeous, thoughtful gifts! They both will be nice to use while you are taking things easy. What better than to sit with a lovely cup of tea while being pampered.
Happy Birthday Jenny! I sent your little present today, I hope you and Blossom will like them! (I sent one for her as well!) I wonder if you can guess what they are?
That little bird on your new gorgeous stationery organizer is a red-backed fairy-wren. In case you didn't know. We have them all around our house, and I've taken some fabulous photos! I can e-mail you my favourite shot if you'd like!
We didn't have a cloud in the sky today - very hot too! Send me the rain! I'll have it, and then you won't have to worry about more migranes...
hugs!
Hi, Jenny, honey. I'm sorry I missed your birthday. I've been "out of sorts", so to speak, after my long journey back to Cape Breton. I see it's your turn to have a migraine. I'm sorry. Glad you had a good birthday, despite! I'll be thinking of you! ~karen
Jenny, Happy Birthday (late)~ I am a regular follower of your blog and I notice the frequency of your headaches. The only reason I mention this is because I am a sufferer of migraines too. My doctor put me on a blood pressure medicine and I hardly ever have a headache now. I don't have high blood pressure but the medication opens constricted blood vessels, a major symptom of headaches. I don't know if this will help you but I thought I'd offer it just in case. Love your blog and all your patterns!
